A native of Sarasota, Dr. Askins graduated as Valedictorian of Riverview High School in Sarasota. He received his medical degree from the University of Florida College of Medicine and completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Medical Center. Dr. Askins is a Diplomate at the National Board of Medical Examiners and a Fellow at the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.

While a vast majority of workers' compensation cases do not require surgery, some cases are surgical. Not only do we perform the routine extremity surgeries and procedures associated with general orthopedics, but we perform Knee Replacements, and Hip Replacements. Chris is our dedicated Workers' Compensation Coordinator for all of Askins & Miller's offices and GulfCoast Surgery Center.
Recent advances have allowed our surgeons to perform surgeries through smaller incisions. Improved fiber optic lights bring light to the operative field. Better instrumentation can guide our surgeons to perform the correct procedure through a much smaller incision without directly visualizing all of the anatomy.
