He has operated on my two Achilles Tendons and now they are better than they were originally. I recommend Dr. Cottom completely. To foster high-quality fellowship programs through support, recognition and visibility, the ACFAS Board of Directors has approved the "ACFAS Recognized Fellowship" program. Programs meeting minimal requirements are officially recognized by the College, which will in turn provide these programs support through grants and visibility.
Fractures or broken bones are very common injuries in the lower extremity. At Florida Orthopedic Foot & Ankle Center we are well trained and have treated hundreds of traumatic conditions of the lower extremity. In all cases a detailed exam is performed and all treatment options are explained and offered to patients.
Ankle joint replacement also known as total ankle arthroplasty, is a surgical procedure that is performed to treat end-stage ankle arthritis. Arthritic changes are usually caused by a previous injury to the ankle or leg such as a fracture or ligament tears. Arthritic changes may also be a result of normal wear and tear due to aging.

My first experience with Dr. Cottom was 3 years ago when he treated me for tears in both my Achilles. He fitted me with casts to wear to reduce the chances of doing further damage. He has kept me playing senior softball year round. I recently had to see him again, this time for an Os peroneum along with prescribing a walking cast he also injected amniotic fluid to facilitate faster healing. His commitment to excellence and cutting edge technology had me back playing softball in 6 weeks!

This is THE BEST medical facility I have ever had to visit. A few days before Christmas I dropped a huge solid wood door on my foot. The team here was quick to get me in last minute, gave fantastic customer service, communicated clearly what needed to happen, delivered phenomenal care, and did amazing following up with me. I have never felt so at ease with a doctor and medical staff before. Thank you all for caring and excelling at what you do. ^_^

I highly recommend this office! I took a spill at work and sought out Dr. Cottom. He is one of the most understanding, relaxed & knowledge doctor I have ever met. He listens to what you have to say, explains issues and treatments in a very easy to understand way and his office staff (KP, Julia, Katie - the list goes on!) are nothing short of amazing. Anytime I’ve ever needed anything they’ve gone above and beyond to get it done and with such speed and efficiency! I’m so thankful to be his hands!
