Schmidt Funeral Home PC
Serving two locations, Schmidt Funeral Homes and staff are dedicated to providing care and compassionate service to the families of Nazareth, Wind Gap and surrounding communities of the Lehigh Valley and Slate Belt region. For over 100 years our funeral homes have been helping people plan celebrations of lives lived.

Today we continue that tradition by offering a wide range of options and packages to personalize both, traditional funeral or cremation services. Serving every family with great pride, integrity and the utmost sensitivity enables us to offer a wide range of services to meet your families needs and customs.
Services
Locally owned and operated since 1911, the name "Schmidt" has been serving the Lehigh Valley and Slate Belt/Pocono areas in the funeral profession for over 100 years. Currently serving the public at two locations, Wind Gap and Nazareth, Pennsylvania, the business was originally established by the late Morris Clinton Schmidt in 1911.
The staff at Schmidt Funeral Homes, PC, is dedicated to assisting your family in planning and personalizing a funeral that will suit your family's needs as well as the wishes of your loved one. We will support and facilitate services and ceremonies in any setting; whether held at our funeral home, at your church, or at the cemetery, we will help you design a meaningful farewell to honor your loved one.
Staff members of Schmidt Funeral Homes, P.C. are caring and experienced professionals who understand that each family is unique and has personal requests and traditions. These requests and traditions are of utmost importance to our staff of licensed funeral directors. Jane A. Follweiler, a lifelong resident of Nazareth, is a Pennsylvania licensed funeral director and the owner of Schmidt Funeral Homes of Nazareth and Wind Gap.
Still, I encourage you to slow down, take a deep breath and focus on what is really important - what is essential - about the funeral you are planning. What is essential in the life that was lived and the impact that life had on family and friends. To honor that unique life, the funeral must also be unique.
Because cremation is becoming increasingly popular, Schmidt Funeral Home offers a full range of cremation service packages, from full traditional services to basic direct cremation, in order to meet each family's needs. While cremation is an option for final disposition, it does not prevent a family from having a traditional funeral service.

The care, warmth, empathy, and compassion that Jane showed us at Schmidt cannot be put into words. She has a very soft way of approaching caring for your loved ones that made us feel very comfortable during a very hard time for our family. I would give 6 stars if i could.

After the passing of my loved one a year ago, Schmidt Funeral Home was recommended by a family member who had a very good experience. In the throes of the pandemic, I delayed the services so everyone who wanted to attend could, based on the state capacity mandate.
From my initial visit one year ago to the final services this past weekend, the funeral director, Jane Follweiler, and her staff embraced me and my family. Every call was returned immediately. She researched and answered every question, as I had services spanning two states.
The Schmidt Funeral Home staff is professional, respectful

After reading the one negative post by a person with an obvious agenda I feel compelled to make this post. Schmidt Funeral Home in Nazareth has been used by my family for decades and has always done so with the expertise and professionalism that exceeded expectations. Even though it has changed ownership it still continues its stellar tradition . unfortunately a few years back I had to use their services for my wife and can personally attest to this. I also know many , many others who gave been more than pleased with their services. I have never heard of anyone dissatisfied.

I would not lay a loved one to rest with this funeral home, even if I was poor and they offered to pay for the entire service and procession. This place disrespected the deceased by prohibiting friends of that person entry in to their funeral home to pay respect. The vile human beings who operate this funeral home took away numerous people's chance to give their respect to a friend one last time, and allowed family members to play gatekeeper at what was a funeral open to the public, as stated in the local newspaper. This place also seems to think they have ownership over public parking spaces,
