Choosing a periodontist can be a challenging endeavor for patients. We understand that you have a number of options, and we encourage you to do your homework before settling on one practitioner. Most patients will not want a periodontist who immediately suggests a surgical intervention for gum disease.
Periodontal disease is a serious infection that can wreak havoc on your smile. If you do not get the appropriate care, it can destroy the gums and bone that support your teeth. Also known as gum disease, the condition is caused by bacteria that feed on the plaque and tartar in your mouth. A study conducted by the Center for Disease Control found that almost half of all American adults over the age of 30 suffer from periodontal disease.
Nilda was born in Williamsburg, Brooklyn and dreamed of living in a New York City brownstone. As much as she enjoys having time off, she loves her co-workers and appreciates working for Dr. Gottesman. She relishes exploring the city with her daughter and reading period pieces from the Victorian Era.
Our office is located in a townhouse in the Treadwell Farms Historic District on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. Upon entering, you will be greeted by our friendly staff. Our waiting room has a wood burning fireplace and the treatment rooms face a spectacular garden and terrace. I highly recommend Dr. Gottesman and his office. They are extremely professional and caring every step of the way. All of my appointments were done on time and each of the procedures were explained in great detail. Dr Gottesman also followed up the day of each of the surgeries to make sure there were no issues. I was recommended to Dr. Gottesman by my dear friend and honestly the best experience so far while working on getting the perfect smile. From scheduling the initial appointment to the follow up on the procedure I felt comfortable and at ease. My experience at Perio NYC and with Dr. Gottesman has been very positive. Dr. Gottesman and his entire staff are great at communicating what to expect, not only for the procedures but also with billing. They were able to put me at ease by answering all my questions before, during, and after my appointments. Oral surgery can be stressful so it is nice to know that if I had questions they will get answered.

Firstly i really like the office and work areas there but mostly the beautiful procedure rooms . Over the past 7 years i have had many implants and more done with Edward Gottesman including bone and gum widening or lengthening to help preserve past root canals as well when more space was deemed needed . He has several hygienists to choose from if you want to use them along with your own dentist , and his personal work assistants are really very good and work superbly with him . He is fun amusing enough and good to get to know when he works along with you too .

Dr Gottesman is top notch. Smooth operator, helped me with a receding gum issue that was alerted to me by my dentist and needed taking care of in the form of a graft. Online research into this procedure made it seem unappealing to say the least but I had faith in Dr G and he came through with a fairly painless service, personalized, all with good conversation and a pleasant garden view!

I came to Dr. Gottesman at the recommendation of my dentist for some cosmetic gum contouring prior to veneer application. I have nothing but good things to say about the experience with both him and the office. They are quick, efficient, and Dr. Gottesman is professional and personable. I never waited more than a few minutes to be seen and Dr. Gottesman himself followed up with me the evening after the procedure. A generally unpleasant process ended up a lot less unpleasant than I expected and I credit Dr. Gottesman and his team for this. I'm very happy with the results!

I had three implants put in the same day, I wanted it done all at once and put it behind me. I was apprehensive about being able to go thru this procedure for all three implants at once. After consulting with Dr. Gottesman, I was fine with it and decided to proceed. With any surgery, there are so many things to consider and my fear is how do I really know if this Doctor is capable of the procedure. I have been come to this office for at least 10 years now and have always received fabulous service. From quarterly to emergency visits the staff has always worked with my busy schedule. Dr. E. My former Endodontist and Surgeon moved and was flying back to LA to get dental work. I knew I had to find someone local with all of my teeth issues. I was referred to Dr. Gottesman. Dr, Gottesman did an implant for me a few months ago and I have gone for two follow-up visits. His office staff is excellent and I have never waited more than 5 minutes. He is straight forward, professional, and has a great sense of humor. I'm hoping not to need another implant any time soon; however . . . if I did I go to Dr. Gottesman.
