Services
Band can create some of the greatest experiences, memories, and friendships while you are in high school, but understand the first step is making a commitment. A good attitude, practice, effort, and hard work will ensure success not only for you but the entire program. Financial obligations are necessary to fund the many different operations of the band and it is important to meet those obligations in a timely manner.
Light-colored T-shirt that covers your shoulders. Dark colors absorb heat. Tank tops do not protect your shoulders and the back of your neck, which are typical danger spots for skin cancer. How should I prep for band camp? Get a goodnight sleep the night before. Eat a healthy meal before you show up.
In addition to the dues listed above, you will also pay at this time for any extra apparel items you are ordering (band) and all personal effects needing to be ordered (guard). BPA memberships can also be included in this payment ($25 per family). If you have any questions about your student's balance (if you have any credits/debts carrying over from previous years), please send our treasurer an email at treasurer@seminolehsband.org.
We invite you to join the SHS Band Parent Association whether you are a parent, a grandparent, a family member, friend or alumnus. Dues are $25 per year per person and go towards supporting the band year-round. You are not obligated to join any committees by joining the Band Association. If you have some time to give there are plenty of opportunities, big and small, to join in the fun.
The Seminole County Public Schools Dividend website is where you register as a volunteer for the school year. Registration is required every year. We will receive a list of registered Dividends, and can only select volunteers from that list. This is for the safety of our students. Parents, grandparents, aunts, siblings - anyone who plans to help during the school year is welcome to register.

Went for a football game. We are band parents and travel with the band.Their band, band parents and band directors were very nice and welcoming but one of the police officers (big dude, bald head and was either a sergeant or corporal) and some administrators were very rude. If you have policies and procedures it would have been nice to have been informed of them BEFORE we came so we were prepared. Being yelled at and belittled instead of calmly telling us what was going on was not professional. Especially when we were asking what we could do to rectify the situation. And it was very hard to maneuver

This school is a pathetic joke....All of the staff in the office are idiots and do not communicate with each other...They all have a doctorate.....In what who knows, but it sure isn't in education or managing a school...They hide the school's issues from the public as best they can.. Example: kids getting robbed at gunpoint point RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE SCHOOL!!! DRUGS BEING SOLD AND USED IN AND ON SCHOOL CAMPUS(not just pot) as far as I am concerned the whole stall needs to be replaced

Despite what some people may say about Seminole High School, the school overall is great! The programs are top-notch and challenging in order to better prepare students for the future. My child went through the Health Academy program and loved every minute of it! The certifications (CNA or CMAA) are definitely worth it! He has many IB friends that also enjoy the school and are so proud of their IB accomplishments. There are so many clubs and classes for every student that there is no way that someone couldn't find something to their liking here! :)
