Finding a reliable specialty shop can be a challenge, especially when every auto shop says they do exhaust, brakes and tires. At Jim's Mufflers, instead of doing everything under the sun, we specialize in exhaust systems, brakes and tires. It is what sets us apart and lets you know your car or truck is in very capable hands.
Family owned and operated since 1980, we are a shop you can trust. I found Jim's Mufflers about 6 years ago and have been bringing my vehicles here ever since. I trust these guys with a lot more than my cars - I trust them with my life.

Services
Essentially, we want to make sure customers are happy with our work and safe on the road. And by all accounts, it looks like we are doing a really good job. Customers continually tell us they heard about us from a friend and that we come highly recommended. Opened in 1980, Jim's Mufflers is one of a handful or reputable independent exhaust system, tire care and brake centers in greater Kingston.
Coming to a full stop is a lot easier when your car has working brakes. It seems like a simple thing, but it isn't. Brake systems are complicated, so you want to make sure you have experts do the work. Our technicians are brake specialists, spending their time working on brakes and studying about brake systems.

Myself and my family have used Jim’s Mufflers for over 20 years. Professional and high quality service at an affordable price. Rob is by far the most affordable and highest quality exhaust repair shop in the area. His services also extend far beyond exhaust and include tires, brakes and vehicle servicing and more. Professional and friendly attitude in an extremely low pressure atmosphere. Rob will tell you what your vehicle NEEDS and will absolutely not up-sell you in any way, shape or form.

I was on a vacation trip near the area and ended up needing to have my exhaust pipe fixed. The Nissan dealership nearby wanted me to pay them over a thousand for fixing it, and for me to leave my car there. I ended up finding Jim from a google search of the area. He was straight to the point, honest, kind, and knowledgeable. He did the job in just an hour. I have never had an easier or more pleasant experience when it came to customer service and when it came to repairing my car. Thanks Jim!

My muffler was leaking and I brought my car here after having it recommended to me many times. The prices were fare, the waiting area was nice as well as the owner who greeted me and fixed my car. Definitely would recommend this place to anyone who is in the market for tires, brakes, mufflers or suspension.

I have a 1996 Toyota LandCruiser with a 3” lift and side ARB bumpers. My muffler rusted out and the exhaust pipe just sheered off, both happening at the same time of course. My local mechanic in High Falls (Abbott Automotive who is awesome) didn’t feel comfortable taking on this job due to the customization that was necessary, so he referred me to Rob at Jim’s Mufflers. He took a look at what he had to deal with, quoted me a price and as soon as the parts came in, he went to work. There were a couple of surprises when it came time to install, which added to the expense, but Rob figured it

I had a flow master installed on a 2010 Dodge Charger the work was great but not happy that after the job is complete I get the "well it's in but doesn't sound like u want it to because the resonator needs to be changed " on but why not have this discussed before the work is started ? Well because now they did what I asked so I have to pay but now I have to remove the resonator or change that because the sound is the same ...

THANK YOU JIM!!! My exhaust problem was originally quoted for around $400 by my local shop, but they ended up not being able to do the repair and referred me to Jim's Mufflers instead. I went to Jim's the next day and got a new flex pipe welded in right away for only $175, and the car is now as quiet as ever. Nothing against my local shop though, I think they might not do welding jobs and didn't have the heart to replace more than was necessary. So glad they referred me to Jim's instead!

Visited the shop with a flex pipe crack/ exhaust leak. Robbie charged $300 to fix the issue with a section cut out and weld. The opposite side pipe developed the same issue 2 weeks later. I took my car to another muffler specialist and was charged $160 for the exact same repair (quality of the weld bead on the second job is actually a little better, though that doesn't necessarily make any real difference in performance). Quality of work is important of course, but honesty and integrity is what I had hoped for in taking my car to a "specialist" instead of one of the big-box national

Service is first come first served here. Had a quick 10 minute wait in the AM and then they got me right in. Checked out the issue and gave me the options (full replacement vs. fix/weld). No pressure to go either way. Went the quicker fix route this time. Took about 30 minutes for the repair and was back on the road minus the previous roar and rattling. First time here and won't hesitate to go back again.
