It may feel so big and overwhelming. You don't want to come out from under the covers and you don't have the motivation to figure out how to get your life back on track. Loss is something we all experience. That doesn't mean we know how to manage it. It can feel so big and overwhelming.

For over 20 years I've helped people walk through the darkest moments of their lives so they can develop the strength, confidence, and compassion needed to restore purpose and meaning in their lives. My name is Dr. Tara May. I'm a psychologist specializing in trauma and grief recovery just outside of Portland in Vancouver Washington.
Services
For more than 20 years, I've been helping people overcome obstacles and heal from tragedy. I've sat beside those that have needed support and counseling after their mind, body, or spirit had broken, shattered and overwhelmed. Over the years, I've supported thousands of men and women in overcoming the negative impact of trauma, loss, tragedy, neglectful and abusive parenting, and all the things in between that happen while you are trying to live.
The focus of my practice is to facilitate the inner strength and resilience that lives within us. You can access greater support, clarify your needs, and build your confidence so that you can embrace living and loving. Life circumstances, trauma, difficult relationships, disappointments, loss, and mood problems can erode your confidence and muddle the way you see yourself and others.
I've created two free online programs to help both bereaved parents and friends, family, and professionals that know someone with a loss. If you have experienced the loss of your pregnancy or baby at any stage, I want to extend my deepest condolences for your heartbreak. I've gone through it myself.
As an experienced speaker, Dr. Tara May is available for both speaking engagements and to the press. With more than 20 years of experience, Dr. May brings warmth, compassion, openness, and practicality to a tender subject. She is known for creating a sacred space for both bereaved parents.

Professionals will learn about the normalcy of death, the unique challenges of baby loss, and ways to foster compassion and healing in the midst of devastating loss.Tara gave us such an uplifting talk today at our retreat. I often feel helpless when helping myself but Tara gave me tangible tools to use for self care and stress management.
Those who choose to work with me show greater levels of emotional strength, confidence, connection, hope, success, clarity in setting goals and getting their needs met. I offer a 10 minute phone consultation prior to setting up an initial face to face consultation. Typically, when we decide to work together, you can expect to come into my private office once per week.
