The Hospital provides routine and life saving care, stabilizing patients who may need to be transferred to another facility. Outpatient Services include Laboratory, Radiology and Physical Therapy departments. The Laboratory offers a wide range of tests and is staffed by qualified personnel with degrees in Medical Laboratory Technology.

Muleshoe is licensed for 25 acute care beds, all of which may be used as "swing beds" or skilled nursing beds. As a result, the hospital can care for many inpatients with acute and chronic medical conditions such as heart attacks, congestive heart failure, pneumonia and influenza, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, diabetes, etc.
Services
In 1981, Bruce Purdy, MD, built Muleshoe Family Medicine Clinic, that is still in the same location across the street from the hospital, 701 S. First Street. Dr. Purdy and Dr. Allgood started taking call from 5pm-11pm and weekends, helping the hospital to secure state designation for an Emergency Department.

Muleshoe Area Medical Center, Medical Clinic of Muleshoe and Muleshoe Family Medicine serve all patients regardless of ability to pay. Discounts for uninsured patients seeking medically necesssary care provided by the hospital and clinic are offered based on the size of the patient's immediate family, annual household income, and a sliding scale comparing household income with the hospital and clinic's charity care income guidelines.
In compliance with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), Muleshoe Area Medical Center is making available to the public a copy of its standard charges known as a "Charge Master, " "Charge Description Master" or "CDM".

Since payment rates for hospital care provided to insured patients are either negotiated with health plans, set by the federal government for Medicare, or set by state governments for Medicaid enrollees, the payments hospitals receive for patient care do not necessarily reflect the prices reflected in the Charge Master.

Went in to the ER and was treated very well by everyone. It was not a busy time, thankfully, & service was as prompt as could be. All the staff were friendly & kind. They were very thorough in trying to diagnose my issue & give me the best care possible. I would have absolutely no problem going again.

Worst Hospital service and billing. The Doctors and billing department are beyond horrible at diagnosis for insurance and billing. If you have a medical emergency go to another hospital. They will give you an IV and charge you over $2000 for staying there only a couple of hours and also bill your insurance for over $5000.

This was by far the worst hospital experience I have ever had, I took my son here because he was running fever and throwing up. When seeing my son they held him down and forced his arms and shoulders to where they needed them and continued to treat my son as if he were not a human. Following that they accused myself and family of awful things and seemed disgusted when finding out I still breastfed my son. The doctor demanded my husband and I to hold our sons arms now then preceded to tell us that as parents we should never do that to our son which left us confused because we were following his

Im always disappointed when I go. It's either we can't help you go somewhere else or the see you and they don't know what to say. Like really? If this is the service might as well come all the way to Lubbock then there.
