In addition to assessing your visual acuity, your eye care provider will test for common eye diseases, assess how your eyes are functioning together, and more. Serious health issues like diabetes and high blood pressure are often first detected during an eye exam. The American Optometric Association (AOA) recommends children have their eyes examined at 6 months old, three years old, at the start of school, and every two years until age 18.

Jennifer Aslam (Dr. Jenny) is such an enjoyable person! She has all the gadgets and state-of-the art equipment to make her as competent as she is pleasant. Her staff is terrific. Love the frames I found. Can't speak highly enough about her.
Her practice is a bit hidden from view and it's not fancy, but this is the optometrist you're looking for.

I was on vacation visiting family in El Segundo this past week, when by accident my cornea was scratched. Being out-of-state and suffering from an eye injury, I was nervous I wasn’t going to be able to find the medical care I needed. My husband found El Segundo Optometry and we rushed over hoping to be seen. Upon arriving to the office the secretary who greeted us was so welcoming and empathetic, she gathered the information necessary and told us she would work us into the doctors schedule. Do not do eye exam here because they do not provide pupil distance in the eye exam report. That means you cannot buy glasses on-line without this information. If you want your PD, you must buy glasses from their shop or pay extra $20 for the measurement. I am okay with buying glasses from their shop, but they do not have many choices. Finally I spend $25 to measure my PD in another shop nearby because I do not want them to make my money. That makes me really annoyed.

They will gauge your for every dollar. If you order contacts outside their scope, they will charge you another $50 before they will approve and release the contacts to you. They are supposed to verify the prescription is correct with what contacts I'm ordering, not tell me where I can order from and charge me extra to do that. Bad bad bad

I came in to this office to update my 1 1/2 year old prescription from another eye doctor who is now pretty far away after I moved. Their first attempt was so far off that I could barely wear the new lenses out the door. The second attempt wasn't much better. So I just had them put back my old lenses. They didn't even clean my glasses when they gave them back to me.
They are only providing me a partial refund. So I'm trying to find out what insurance coverage I have left so I can travel back to my old doctor. During this whole time, which took months, I was wearing an old pair

I am a fairly new resident of El Segundo & been procrastinating on getting much needed prescription reading eye gasses. I chose here because it's honestly closest to me & reviews were good.
I saw Dr. Nakada for my exam & she was very thorough. Then picked out my glasses & got what I feel best prescription glasses since - well since now. I came from Whittier & everyone swears up & down about Dr. Golden's office - but I was much happier with this Optometry group. It was just a thorough experience.
They also take VSP and are fast.

I needed to go to an eye doctor after waking up with an irritated, watery left eye. I would have gone to my usual doctor but wanted to find a place close to work. Be cautious with Yelp because I chose this place due to 5 star reviews. I worked in the optometry industry for 4 years so I was hoping for the best. I'm sure Dr. Bell is a great optometrist, but this is just based on my experience as a walk-in.

I woke up with excruciating pain in my eye unable to even blink. I called a bunch of optometrists and they all told me to go to urgent care or that they were booked for the day even after I explained my pain. I called Eileen's office and they were booked too but sympathetic to my situation so they squeezed me in for a quick look.

I've been seeing Dr. Michele Rogers for about five years now and I'm extremely pleased with her kindness, knowledge, compassion, and easy-going demeanor. I'm not your average optometry patient, as I have had Type 1 Diabetes for over 30 years now. Dr. Rogers has always taken the time to conduct thorough examinations of my eyes and recommend any "next steps" that may be necessary. When some of my scans showed that I would need a more specialized opinion, she didn't hesitate to refer me to a retina specialist so that I could receive the care I needed.

I'm in the market for a new optometrist, I wanted someone local (but not a deal breaker if it's not), someone friendly, good and et cetera ... So, after perusing Yelp I decided to give this place a try - and, this place was a rude awakening.
