AMD Architecture is committed to involvement in activities on a local and regional level which are felt to have architectural significance or community benefits. We have been involved with a range of projects from writing municipal High Performance Building Standards (HPBS) to designing a low-income green home development.
While meeting with you in our office and on the site, we are able to learn the basic requirements of the building as well as the fine intricacies that will make the project special. We will investigate building codes, zoning ordinances, and site conditions before design begins. We encourage clients to prepare themselves for the design process by doing a bit of research on their own.
Our design process begins by gaining an in-depth understanding of our clients' wants and requirements in order to provide them with the best possible options unique to their life and style. Our custom designs reflect the individual desires and needs of each client, resulting in aesthetically beautiful and functional solutions.
The construction documents include drawings and written specifications. These documents serve as the "how-to" manual for the contractor, defining your agreement and expectations. Drawings typically include: site and floor plans; interior and exterior elevations; building and wall sections; building and finish details; door, window, plumbing, appliance, and finish schedules; structural plans and details; and mechanical and electrical plans.
