Artisan Tree Service has been a state licensed contractor since 2013. Our tree service extends all over the Sacramento valley and up into the mountains of El Dorado and Amador county. I have to give Matt and crew 5 stars. I had about 10 large pine trees that succumbed to the beetle problem here on my disc golf course in the foothills and have had a few folks come out to take a look...none were very interested in the job for some reason. I was referred to Matt by a buddy who has done some work with him so I gave him a call and received a call back soon thereafter. I described the situation and he had no hesitation in setting an appointment for that same day to bid the job, even though he had to drive up here an hour away AND it was Memorial Day. Booked this company after they did work for a neighbor. Matt and his helper showed up over an hour late and didn't bother to call or answer my call. They trimmed many trees and worked less than 5 hours for $1,200.
Unfortunately, I was really sick the day they were here and trusted that they did a good clean-up since I heard the leaf-blower, and my neighbor was satisfied with their clean-up. The next day in walking the perimeter of my large property I saw that much of the small twigs and debris had been blown into surrounding redwood chips, and the field. It took 6 hours to clean up

Found this company through family as he came and saved a cat from a tree. Decided to hire him for quite a few trees we need taken out. The first one was supposed to come down yesterday, got a call that he would be here at 8:30am today instead.
Today is here and he rolls up 30 minutes late and says his back hurts already looking at it and that it's a big tree. Ok well we've been waiting and you said you'd handle it no prob so let's get it done. He and his two employees proceed to spend an hour sharpening chainsaws, thinking maybe that should've been done before the job

Matt was able to provide a reasonable quote to remove and stump grind 60 x 8 feet of overgrown Oleander bushes and also removed other items left behind by the previous tenants as a bonus. The best part is they were able to complete the work before I could get any other companies to even schedule a quote. A crew of three arrived on time and worked very hard the entire time they were here. They also cleaned up very well. I will have him back next year to trim up a very large and old Modesto Ash and remove all of the Mistletoe at the top of the branches.

I saw these guys trimming a neighbors trees so I asked if they could look at our large palm tree. The owner walked right over, gave me a quote and a time, and we were set. We had gotten 4 other quotes and he was the cheapest. Our palm tree hadn't been trimmed in over 15 years (were assuming, we just moved here) and it was a major fire risk. These guys took about 3 hours, cleaned up everything, and the tree looks amazing. It's great to have a good local business in our area. We will have them trim the palm every year for maintenance.

I had a Major job. 5 large trees, 1 medium, and 3-5 stumps. The trees were not watered well for decades, and the roots were everywhere in the lawn. Matt and his team did exceptional work! They had to remove some fence to access the back yard, and replaced it like original. They were meticulous about cleaning up all the debris, and removed all the extra chips and leaves. I couldn't find any attached roots, and there thousands of feet before they started. They left the soil ready for me to till in topsoil and lay new sod. I was super pleased and should highly recommend his company!

I am so done with this company. I had an appt scheduled for 9/26 for 5. At 530 I called to seecwgat happened, I was told his truck broke down...okkkk. so no call to notify me?? I decided to give them another shot so I call 9/27 to reschedule for later that day. He said,he could come at 5 again...here it is 540...I keep getting a voicemail. How very unprofessional of this company. Guess back to the drawing board for a tree trimmer.

I recommend you do a background check before thinking of hiring this company to come on to your property.
My neighbor actually hired these guys to remove about 10 Texas Privets which the trees were located on my side of the fence, In the process of removing the trees, this company managed to break FOUR sprinklers, bust TWO pvc pipes, break branches off my cherry blossom (damaged while bringing down the privet trees). It took Matt 2 days to repair their sloppy
job and didn't even complete his mess!!!
