I provide effective, culturally competent, trauma-informed psychiatric care to clients in a private and comfortable location. I practice general psychiatry which includes: anxiety, ADHD, Binge Eating Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, and addiction / alcoholism. I serve people ages 16-60 in the Beaverton/ Portland area. Justin Rice, PMHNP offers psychiatric evaluations and medication management. The primary focus of our clinic is psychiatry which in this practice means mental health medication management and therapy.

It is often inappropriately applied to mean "poorly focused." Having distractibility or poor focus does not mean that you automatically have ADHD ( otherwise referred to as ADD). There are a range of other symptoms that come with ADD and can begin to be relieved with appropriate medication. The condition itself brings about traits that are positive and negative, like all mental health conditions.
Binge eating is often described as eating unusually large amounts of food, often to the point of gastric distress to manage feelings that are uncomfortable and overwhelming. ANAD (Association of Anorexia and Associated Disorders) offers this definition: "The disorder is characterized by eating a large amount of food in a short amount of time, usually in isolation, and with high levels of distress, shame, and guilt about the bingeing."
I think maybe when you drink, you're probably robbing yourself of that genuine experience, even though it appears what you're doing is getting more of it. You're getting less of it. And it takes a while, when you've had a rock on the hose like that for so long. It takes a while for the hose to be a hose again, you know, and for things to start flowing.
Cannabis laws have changed within the last few years in Oregon. For some people this provides a sense of relief- not only from the medical issues that they utilize the plant for, but also from the threat of criminalization. However, other users find that they feel confined by Cannabis. Activities that used to be joyful now require getting high.

Justin is truly amazing. I’m the type to go to therapy and end up not following through and losing motivation. That has entirely changed with Justin’s help. He has motivated me so much over the time I have been seeing him. I trust him entirely, he has showed nothing but compassion and is very understanding. I highly recommend him!

Justin changed my meds over to lexapro and then will not refill prescription even though I am out of town and cannot make an appointment. He needs that extra $200 in his pocket before he will issue the refill. I am dizzy and sick from running out of this drug and he knows what it does. Why no response to the refill requests? All about the money for another visit I guess. Thanks

Justin is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner like myself. I often find my myself turning to Justin for advice because I have learned to trust his advice and experience. He also has a lot if mental health experience in various care environments and knows rhe mental health community in Portland well.
I am generally not the person that goes around writing reviews because I know how different we can all be with our preferences. However, someone asked me the otherday who to send their family member to in Portland and Justin was the first person that came to mind. I would send my own family
