Atlantic breezes cool our vineyards creating a climate hospitable to a wide array of fascinating grape varieties. At Channing Daughters we grow and create wines from over two dozen varieties.

The white grapes include Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, Tocai Friulano, Sauvignon Blanc, Muscat Ottonel, Malvasia, Gewurztraminer, Ribolla Gialla and Pinot Bianco, and the red varieties include Merlot, Blaufrankisch, Dornfelder, Syrah, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Teroldego, Refosco and Lagrein. We are the only winery on the East End growing and producing wines from many of these grapes.
Services
Our six separate vineyards on our Bridgehampton farm were planted from 1982 to 2007. The varieties planted in each block represent the development of Channing Daughters from Walter Channing's first experiments to our emerging interest in Italianate grape varieties to a fascination with complanted multi-variety blocks and wines to a reversal from single clone plantings of Chardonnay to the inter-planted 10 clone blocks of today.
The viability of local vineyards is dependent on our ability to steward our land in a way that allows it to stay healthy and productive into the future. We see our vineyards as a holistic ecological system and we strive to develop viticultural practices that produce the highest quality fruit possible, while also being sensitive to the environment and financially viable over time.
Owner/Sculptor Walter Channing's works are ever present in the vineyards, tasting room, and almost anywhere you look around the estate. They emerge unexpectedly the end posts of vineyard rows and less subtly in the form of towering inverted trees against the horizon. A forty-foot pencil rockets skyward while draped nudes sleep pronate on the patio floor.
The winemaker James Christopher Tracy has been making pet-nats since 2014 at Channing Daughters winery on Long Island, New York, releasing as many as 10-white, pink, and red-in a given year. Why so many? It's clearly a blessing for winemakers who love exploring the edges, as Channing Daughters' Chris Tracy does.
Channing Daughters Winery strives to provide customers of all abilities with equal access to its products and services, including through an accessible website. Perfect first stop on the tour. Very friendly and welcoming. The Tocai was a standout, as was the orange wine and petillant, but there were no bad wines in either tasting.

Came around noon on a Saturday in off season. Exceptional wine tasting. Anthony was super friendly and knowledgeable, and he hooked us up! Wines and vermouths were solid across the board, and we ended up grabbing a pair to take home with us. One of the best tasting experiences we’ve had. Well worth a stop.

Lovely winery. We were planning to go to a different winery but they were closed due to a private event and randomly came here instead. My parents enjoyed it too.
