Due to popular demand, we added this web-page to offer more detail on how Dr. Koppula can remove troublesome spots for both cosmetic and medical purposes. The most common procedure to remove and test moles is the shave biopsy. With this method, Dr. Koppula applies a local anesthetic injection to the surface around the spot of concern before using a fine blade to take the spot flush off the skin.

Dr. Koppula is the most competent and compassionate dermatologist we've ever seen in the Portland metro area. My husband and I are so appreciative of her attention to detail, treatment, and guidance in dealing with skin issues. Both Dr. Koppula and her office manager are quick to respond to patient calls of all manner and in scheduling timely visits. Dr. Koppula is all about patient health and successful resolution of dermatology-related problems. Her warmth and unrushed approach with patients clearly sets her above the rest. I called their office recently to schedule an appointment and was told that because I had not been in to see the Dr. Koppula for over 3 years I was (by their term) considered a new patient and therefore could not be accommodated.
What inspired me to call in the first place was because I had recently received a letter from Dr. Koppula discussing some transitional changes the office was making regarding becoming an out of network provider.

Dr. Koppula is an amazing dermatologist. And her staff is top notch. Everyone in the office is simply wonderful. I have battled skin cancer for 20+ years. Dr. Koppula is always kind and honest in giving me the news regarding my latest skin scans/tests. She makes sure I understand everything regarding my options. I have had over 30+ irregular moles removed. If Dr. Koppula wasn't the spectacular woman she is, one of the malignant melonoma spots would have taken me by now. And as for the scar issue a previous reviewer spoke of: all of my many, many scars have healed beautifully!

The people at Cornell Dermatology Clinic are so nice and they are really good at what they do. Dr. Koppula is the most thorough dermatologist I have ever been to. She listens, is incredibly nice, and provides great explanation and education to her patients. I am a newer patient to this office and I will continue to go back. I highly recommend this clinic to anyone seeking a new dermatologist.
