We have been serving our thin style pizza for 25 years. Along the way we've moved a few times, started small, gotten bigger, then even bigger, until we've settled on this tiny spot in the Gulf Gate area. We love it here and hope you do as well! To all of our customers who have stayed with us at Shaner's since we first opened in Beneva Village, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Mixed greens, cucumber, tomato, red onion, mandarin oranges, croutons, choice of dressing. Romaine lettuce, parmesan and Romano cheese, croutons, tossed w/ homemade Caesar dressing. Great thin crust pizza, doesn't compare to anywhere else! If you love sports, especially baseball, great talking with the owner with his commentary/opinion. Perfection in pizza. This place has a special and perfected recipe for the tastiestthin and crispy crust pizza. I know over our lives we all have had a million slices from hundreds of pizza and there are those special few you remember-- this is one of those places.

Pizza was great and the guy that took our order was very nice! The reason I am giving a 2 star review is because the manager was VERY rude. We were quoted 40 minutes and ended up getting it 2 hours after we placed it! There was confusion with our delivery so the driver decided to get us a new pizza, but we were never told this, instead we were told they would be there within a few minutes. When we finally got our pizza, I asked for the manager to call me back to provide feedback and he just blamed all his other employees. We ended up not paying for our pizza, but the manager made the whole situation

We kept hearing about this place for the best Chicago "pub" style pizza so decided to try it. We were skeptical when they said pick up in 15 minutes... I will say the flavors were there, but hardly any toppings. There is also a big difference between a thin and crispy crust compared to the flimsy undercooked crust we received. It could not hold any of the toppings or be picked up without falling apart. We had to try and finish baking it by putting it in our oven at home. Maybe they were busy, understaffed or another reason but quality of food is important to these born and raised Chicagoans

An awesome place to eat. Shane and his staff our wonderful people. Great service and great food. Coming from a Boston boy. His pizza is outstanding. I had the Lobster escargot, delicious. And last but not least. The Philly cheesesteak. Best I’ve ever had, and I’ve been to Pat’s, Geno’s, and Steve’s in Philly. Shane’s beats them all. I would highly recommend Shaners.

Having came from the Chicagoland area, we were looking for some good pizza. We actually were headed to another place that happened to be closed. It was a happy little accident that we found Shaners. We had the pizza and it was everything we had been looking for. Try it, you won't regret it. We will definitely be back.

I generally post reviews to complain. Not this time. Ordered a to go pizza and asked to have it sliced into typical 8 slices. (Shaner’s normally cuts it’s pies into small rectangles). When they brought out the order, the clerk realized that they forgot to cut a different way. Told me to please wait 7 minutes and baked me another pie cut correctly. Gave me both pies for the price of one. Such smart customer service is rare today.
BTW - both pizzas were luscious. I love the thin crust. Count me as a loyal customer

Come for the crispy crust pizza and delicious salads, but then come back for their great burgers and mussels! Burgers perfectly cooked as requested, served with seasoned fries or onion rings...and the mussels with garlic bread for dunking is a feast! Always pleasant service in a casual neighborhood place that we locals love.

Good pizza but very bad service. I sat 20 minutes right in front of some kid answering the phone. Neither he or the other two employees ever asked for my order of even offer a menu. I walked out and the only other customer in the place said to me he was going to walk out too but after about 15 minutes someone finally took his order.
There are at least 6 pizza places in less than 2 miles. I ordered from another one. While waiting I had a drink at a near by bar. When I told the bartender about the service at Shanners she said it is always like that. They never order from them any more.

Drove 20 hours to check this place out which is owned by the great Shane Rawley. The pizza was fantastic and probably the best thin crust pizza I have ever had. It’s going to be hard to eat pizza back home because it doesn’t compare! The staff were super helpful and friendly and if you’re looking for amazing pizza that isn’t overpriced then you MUST come here. Came twice in 3 days because It was just to to good!

This is by far the best pizza I have ever had . The pizza is a thin crispy crust and the sauce is delicious. I grew up in Sarasota and Shaners has always been my go to pizza place for the last 20 years. They have changed locations a couple times but they are now located in gulfgate . The owner Shane is always there and super friendly. If your a local and haven't tried this place you definitely should. If your visiting make sure to put this place on the top of your list for pizza .

After being seated by the owner we sat at our table for 10 minutes without any acknowledgement of us bieng there despite that there was no one in the front dining area. The servers were all around us 5 feet away and never offered any assistance. We walked out and told the waitress no one was waiting on us and her response was. That's Fine. I have eaten there several times but this was the last.

I ordered a 16-inch pizza when I arrived this evening to pick it up and opened the box and saw that it was barely 13 in if that and said to the owner processing my credit card at the register that this was not a 16 in and he said sometimes they shrink and I was like really that's not what I'm paying for and he said gain that happens they can shrink and that was that he would not give me a 16-inch pizza nor would he change the price of the smaller pizza that he was selling me so I told him that I've been coming there for 15 plus years but never again... could not believe this was

What in God's name is wrong with you sarasota? How do you rate this place as high as you do? Maybe it's just me (and my brother) or maybe it's because the west coast of Florida is stocked with Midwest transplants instead of the New York transplants on the east coast, who know good pizza, but this place does not deserve the praise heaped upon it.

Shaner's knocked it out of the park with their Shane's Favorite, a thin crust pizza with a slightly sweet sauce with pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms and red onions. We got the large 16" size that was cut into convenient to handle squares, the bottom crust not firm enough to hold up. After a trip to Italy last year I have become a willing convert to this style of pizza.
I should start with how we started, with a large Shane's Chopped. It was plenty large to be split between two of us, bits of bacon and ham making the salad taste as good as it looked, and it looked

Love this pizza spot! Shane is from Racine, WI and brings a very warm down home feel to the restaurant, greeting the patrons, running food, talking to the kids, and just making sure everything is on point. I love seeing that in a restaurateur. KUDOS!!
Wife had a salad and my son and I split a small pizza which was easily enough for both of us.
The pizza was great!! It's a thin style but NOT a NY-style greasy mess. They offer beers and wine at good price points and she loved the salad.
