Rico's Pizzeria

It was very unorganized when we went in to pick up our 4 meals. When we got home we realized they had forgotten to give us our salads. There was hardly any sauce on our pasta which made everything pretty bland. We were hoping that this would be our new place for takeout. I'm wondering if the pizza is any better than the meals, but not so sure I'm willing to try.

I ordered a pizza and Stromboli at lunch time today and when I ate it, the pizza and stromboli was raw! It was the most disgusting food I’ve ever had. A complete waste of over $40!

Reminded me of that small neighborhood pizza shop that excels at what they do... Don't expect a spacious restaurant with dozens of tables and the red and white checkered table cloths... This is a carryout/delivery pizza joint that squeezed in 4 or 5 tables for a few lucky sit down patrons. Super people, great food.

As usual I ordered the King Neptune, best one yet! Tons of seafood and right amount of garlic. Wife got the sampler and loved it. Great place great Owner, great staff.

Worst Sea Food Pizza EVER! $40.00 in the dumpster. Empty mussel shells, invisible clams and barely there anything else. Makes Dominoes not look so bad after all.

This is good pizza. Dine in and enjoy the ambiance and atmosphere! We had NY style slices and some sicilian. Both really good. We will be coming back!

Tried this for the first time and had the white pizza. Amazing! Seriously probably one of the best I've had in a long time. I see why it's rated so high. There is a free cannnoli with check in from Yelp and I also recommend the greek salad. There is a pizza place called Solarzanos in Sarasota. I would rather eat frozen pizza than order pizza from them, so try Rico's, you won't be disappointed.

After placing an order with the pizza place we all know and well, tolerate, and the order taker calling me back 3 times with substitutions, I cancelled and called Rico’s on an “I’m hungry I want Italian no time for review searching” whim. What a surprise. Holy S. This was good. Great ingredients and extremely large portions. The locals tell me there’s no good pie close to the key. Dead wrong. This was excellent.

When we first moved to the Gulf Gate Woods area of Sarasota (13 years ago), Rico's was one of our favorite pizza places. But over the years, it has become less so. The quality of the ingredients just doesn't seem the same, the service is slow and less than friendly, and the whole experience is just lacking substance. We recently gave them another chance and quickly remembered why we stopped ordering from them. There are better options for great pizza so why settle for just ok...

Just discovered Rico's pizza...thanks for the flyer in the mail! Love! Love! Love! The smell as you walk in will get you! I almost had to eat a piece of pizza in the car. The best crust EVER! We will be going back!

Great hand tossed pizza! Fresh ingredients and great flavor. This place was super busy both times I ordered. The whole family was impressed with the quality of the food here. Head to find NYC style pizza in FL but this is legit.

A good local pizza

This Rico's, not part of the other Rico pizza places in the area, is a good local business located in the Gulf Gate area. It is a small place, about 6 tables for dining in. It is not a polished place, more a place with character, the dining area home to both a British telephone booth and a stack of flour bags. They also have a TV.

I stopped in for lunch. They have a large menu, including many pizza options. I saw a few others getting pizza by the slice, a quick lunch option. For me I decided on the Carnivore, one of their specialty combo pizzas. You guessed it, all meat

Closest pizza to NYC style I've been able to find so far, not as oily as NYC but a quick drizzle when I get home fixed that. Fare price, good staff working the pizzeria as well. A few tables inside, it's my Pizza to go place simply put. Different topping offered....Oh yeah real thin dough, right up my alley.

Great pizza, i drove 30 minutes from Venice to come here because it looked good, they were open until 10 and i wasn't about to go to domino's lol. I got a medium cheese with half garlic and it was super good, I'm from jersey so I'm used to be spoiled with great pizza spots, it's been hard to find a place with sauce I like but Rico's didn't disappoint, should've got a side of it to dip the pizza in cause i liked it so much. These slices are HUGE! We had the fries with cheese and bacon for an appetizer and they didn't disappoint! The spaghetti with meat sauce was also huge! We have leftovers for days! Pizza was on point and staff was very accommodating!

Fantastic New York style pizza! Great greek salads too :) We ordered delivery and it came on time as promised! Will order again for sure!

Never tried Rico's before, and we decided to pick up a cheese pizza tonight. Staff was friendly, and our order was made within the quoted time for pickup.

Unfortunately, this was just one of the worst pizzas I've ever tasted. I thought it would be thin and crispy, but I guess I was looking at old pictures, bc this pizza was super doughy, undercooked, and the cheese was really white and almost sour. And they gave it to us with a bunch of oregano/herbs sprinkled on top, not sure why they do this automatically without asking the customers first. It literally tasted like 7-11 pizza, won

What a fun place! I'm a picky yelper so we carefully chose this place after a long day at the beach. Service was friendly and helpful. The pizza was really great. Our favorites were the cheese pizza (crust is thin and crispy) and the seafood pizza is tdf really. The phill cheesesteak looked amazing, food is fresh and homemade, just what we wanted! Def recommend

When a place is busy, that's the first hint that it's good. Busy, friendly service and delicious pizza. I wasn't a big fan of the garlic knots but I was there for the pizza anyway! A medium was very big. The Caesar salad was top notch as well. Tasty garlicky croutons. Definitely recommend.

Love food but 26.00 for a large 1 item pizza is steep enough but at least put enough of that 1 item to validate that price

Pizza took over 70 minutes on a Tuesday night less than 2 miles away. Pizza was COLD. So unhapppy. Got a Greek salad and is was very good

We are vacationing on siesta key and wanted traditional Italian food that wasn't overpriced, Rico's definitely delivered literally and figuratively. Chicken dishes were good quality and quantity, pizza was excellent, the artichoke appetizer was worth a try. Best part they use their own delivery staff so you don't have to pay crazy extra fees through another service.

Had 10" king Neptune, white pizza and eggplant parmigiana hero sandwich. Excellent! Also , very large portion of chicken tenders.
Really well done.

Not many tables here, but we had great service. Their pasta comes in big bowls, and I could even choose to get my eggplant parm over vegetables for a low carb option.
Their strombolis are also good.
Definitely recommend this place.

We are from out of town, ordered delivery. We waited for over an hour before we called. We ended up picking up. Everything tasted like cardboard (pizza, meatball sub, chicken Parmesan sub and steak sub).

This is a very solid Brooklyn style pie. I ordered a pizza on opening night of March madness expecting a long wait. They quoted 45 minutes but delivered in 30.

The quality was spot on. The pepperoni was excellent and the crust was made very well. This is a much better pie than I was expecting on vacation. I'd ordered from this pizzeria again any day.

So, I saved the connoli for today and they were a huge hit with the entire family.

My family and I enjoyed our dinner here earlier this evening! Was a excellent find! We really loved the pizza, very big slices and big toppings!
Our waitress was very nice and did a great job, was very pleased with her! I really liked how this place was small and the atmosphere was very neat!
Don't forget to check in here on instagram cause you'll get a complimentary mini cannoli which was excellent, We had to order a regular sized one! My mom and dad ordered some of the cinnamon knots with honey, those were freakin awesome!
