Glidden Fence Company was established in 1976 and is still managed by the same owner, Tom Glidden. Tom started working in the fence industry in 1965 as a fence installer for a company that built only commercial fences, Hoosier Fence Company's Highway Division.
He quickly became the best fence installer for that company and in 1972 he went on to work in the Ironworker's Union for the nationwide biggest fence company, Cyclone Fence, a subsidiary of U.S. Steel Corporation.He continued honing his installation and leadership skills while leading a crew for Cyclone Fence.

At Glidden Fence Company, we build both residential and commercial fences in multiple styles. Installing a fence is a hard thing to do, and it needs to be done right if you want your fence to last more than a couple years.

Glidden Fence is a top shelf Fence Company starting at the top with the owner, Tom. Tom sent Bill out to our house to give us an estimate. My husband and I knew immediately that we wanted Glidden to do the job. Bill is knowledgeable an efficient. But, most importantly, he's a man of high character and integrity.

Q: I'm ready to schedule the fence installation, what are the next steps? A: We require a 25% deposit for new jobs and a 50% deposit for repairs and special order materials in order to schedule work. You can pay your deposit with a check or a credit card. Q: Will my new fence be started and finished in one day?

Ask this company for a quote on two gates and two frames that are in front of a dumpster they didnt want to come out so we took pictures and sent them to them they texted back and said they could not quote this job because they were too busy but its wasnt that they were to busy because they would have said that to begin with the job was a small job that they could not make alot of money on so remember this when your looking for a fence company thats been in business as long as they say they have been very sad business and unprofessional

Very professional from start to finish. Everyone from quote to installion was extremely courteous, professional and had an eye for detail. The installation team really took great pride in the work they do, and it definitely shows! We love our new fence and we would definitely recommend Glidden to anyone looking to have one installed.

I wanted to be happy with my fence. It looks great and it was easy to work with the company until it wasn't.
About a week after the project was completed, we ran in a bath in our guest bathroom, and Our bathroom and Landry room flooded! We cleaned this and called plumbers to come out the next day. After hours of testing and snaking drains; one of the plumbers asked when we got our fence installed. He notices that there was a pipe busted near the house. It looked like they tried to dig a post and busted the pipe.
The company denied this although my husband remembers someone spending a lot

Like other other customers, we had difficulty with Glidden. The work crew was outstanding and did their jobs, professionally and competently. They were friendly and respectful. The office management has room for improvement. The work was not completed when I was told it would be, although they did manage to install the fence within the liberal time afforded by the contract. I was disappointed at several points in the process by the lack of communication and incorrect/missed time estimates. After several weeks, I called the office insisting to speak to the manager. Glidden installed cattle and scalloped decorative vinyl fencing to the tune of $11,000 in 2015. The owners son and company who worked on my cattle fence were slow, took frequent breaks, and practically tailgated in my yard. The Hispanic workers worked on my scalloped decorative vinyl fencing. They were very attentive, worked very hard to make sure it was perfectly level and straight. It still looks wonderful today. The whole time working with Glidden (who is unfortunately a local business), they were TERRIBLE at customer service. It took so many phone calls to even get a call back on an $11,000

So far so good.Glidden responded via email within 48 hours of requesting their services on their www for repair or rebuild of wooden fence and they gave me a time frame of when work can be done as well as providing a non endorsed reference I could contact to have it done.I like honesty and Glidden to this point has my business and look forward to having them do the job.

I wish I could give this company minus 5 stars. My experience with them had been nothing short of horrible. Starting with the fence itself. I had a 6 Ft wood privacy fence put in last year. In the first 3 months I had boards starting pull away at the bottom and warp.. I had boards start cracking and splitting... the boards were also FULL of knot holes. I had also explained to them that the fence has to be close the the ground as I have small dogs.. I ended up with places that are 10 inches from the ground....When I called to let them know they were rude and just blew it off and said the fence is

Glidden who originally installed our fence came out in the fall of 2015 and gave us a quote for 735.00 for materials/labor. I called/emailed the person who quoted me 4 times with no response. I then left numerous messages for him at the Glidden office, with NO response. In 2016 my daughter graduated, I started a new job and my daughter went to college. I then got back to the fence and tried calling Glidden again, I was sticking with Glidden because they had installed the original fence and because we share a fence/fence line with our neighbor who has the exact same fence so I wanted to keep it

The customer service prior to installation was great. After installation I had some concerns regarding a scratched panel as well as the fact that they quoted me a price for one size of fence and installed less than what was quoted. Both times I have called, I've been treated very rudely. No one has come out to correct the scratched panel after a week and a half and two phone calls. I was also informed twice that it is not their policy to adjust their pricing even if they short you on the installation. I would not recommend this company.
