Battle Ground was a coming home for me, my father was the minister of Elim Lutheran Church in Hockinson. I have two amazing daughters. Both graduates from Western Washington University; Alisha in Child Psychology and Sociology and Rachel in fine arts with a focus on Photography. I opened the center in 2009, previously I owned Sunshine daycare in Vancouver for 20+ years and then worked for Head Start before moving to Orchards.
As director I have my Early Childhood Education degree (BA from WSU). Even though our center is full we have an active waiting list. We care for children age 1-5, we have one toddler room that has 6 children age 1-2 1/2, 2 preschool classrooms with 7-13 enrolled, and a Pre-K class of 10 to prepare children for their transition to school.

Services
We are here to provide a safe, nurturing learning environment for your children. Our philosophy is simple; create a loving space where children learn through their creative play. We use the state approved Fun Shine Curriculum to teach children what they developmentally need to know. ABC's and 123's are taught along with social skills of meal time etiquette, please and thank you, prayer, clean up, sharing, and personal hygiene.
Please excuse my exuberance when I opened this childcare 10 years ago I assumed I would have plenty of time to teach STARS classes also. BUT that has not been the case, we are running at full capacity and I have not taught a class in 10 years. That does not mean I don't want to and won't but I just have to prioritize and find time.

My daughter has been attending for almost a year now. She loves to go to school and loves all the teachers. She is has learned how to recognize numbers and letters at 3, she knows how to write her name, her colors, shapes, potty trained. They do tons of activities and get the kids outside to play. It is a great school and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a good place for their child.

My son has been at this daycare since a few days after they opened. At first we were skeptical since we had heard about the previous place there was closed down by the state. But after reasearch we learned this was a new business. New owner and new staff. My son has now been here for almost 4 years. He loves it and they have givin him so much learning tools. He now is going into kindergarden when he really is actually ready for first grade. They have a religious theme but we did not feel it was over the top. This would be a good place for anybody of any religion or not. They also were very flexable

Having to go back to work earlier then I wanted was emotionally hard and I didn't know where my son should go. We looked at numerous childcare facilities in Battle Ground. His Kids was the most inviting, friendly, accommodating to my schedule and very good at communicating when there was a problem or issue with my son. My son started going when he was 2 and has been there over a year and still loves it. They always keep things interesting and fun for the kids. They keep the facility clean and safe. I have peace of mind when I am at work knowing that he is in their care.
