Our 8,000 square foot facility has over 6,600 square feet of woodshop space in addition to a hardwood lumber yard, a TV lounge, a members kitchen and an art gallery. The shop enjoys a full complement of pro-grade tools, plenty of bench space, heat and A/C, free Wifi, high ceilings and three walls of windows that pour in natural light!

Philadelphia Woodworks is seeking highly personable and talented craftspeople to join our team as shop monitors and teachers. PW offers a wonderful and engaging work environment where shop monitors work hands-on with eager students and members of all levels. In addition, the PW shop is fully available for shop monitors to use for personal projects when not staffed!

The gentleman at the front desk said he gets my story frequently: I drive by this place every day and always wanted to go, but never have, until today. I encourage anyone thinking about going to stop thinking and actually go. I learned more useful skills in 3 hours of making a cutting board than all my years in school combined. Wood working is an insanely rewarding skill, and the men working here are some of the kindest and clearest instructors around.

My husband and I have been wanting to check out the classes here for a while and finally took the class for making your own cutting board. It was fantastic! I was pretty nervous about using some of the equipment beforehand but our instructor Adam, really make us all feel comfortable and safe and led us through the process thoroughly. He was super knowledgeable and patient. We will certainly be back! I really recommend this for anyone wanting to try woodworking!

Liked it,you learn a whole lot about different tree's 🌲🌳 and wood's, both of my instructor's we're great, funny and really hands on helpful.$400 for the women's weekend,@9:30-5:30 P.M. Warning PSA: if you have a bad back, sore feet, your gonna be in lot's of pain about lunch time and dying to sit down. It's standing only for the entire class. I came home took pain meds with 🍷🍷🍷to get some relief. Luckily the next class wasn't till the following weekend. Bring lunch, unless you know what stores are in manayunk. The website says class is in West Philly(NOT) it's in Manayunk/mannayunk

Excellent experience. My daughter and I went to a bowl turning class. We had a great instructor, Bruce, who showed us everything we needed to know about using a lathe and helped when needed. I would definitely recommend taking a class at Philadelphia Woodworks. You can also become a member and have use of all the tools and equipment as well as help if needed.

My wife and I were interested in making a custom kitchen table for our new home. We scheduled an appointment with Rex to discuss our project, and the team at Philadelphia Woodworks took over from there. They sourced our Cherry wood for the project; set us up with a schedule to build with Rex every other week; and Mike arranged for our table to be color matched to our kitchen island after it was done. We learned a great deal along the way, had a wonderful time doing, and created a stunning piece of furniture that our family will enjoy for years to come. I spent a year as a member and loved every second I spent in this shop. The staff were available when I needed some expert guidance or input. The shop wasn’t overly crowded.
