Mount Pleasant Cemetery is among the best in New England outside suburban districts; commanding hill and dale, lawn and woodland in happy combination, and has a natural observatory from the summit with charming outlook over town, the river, the mountains and the verdant valley of the Passumpsic. Founded in 1853, Mount Pleasant Cemetery is situated on more than 50 acres of land in Vermont's Northeast Kingdom.

Mount Pleasant is an active cemetery steeped in history and also the site of the state's first crematory. Beautifully landscaped and maintained, the cemetery is both an ideal choice for a final resting place or a day of historic exploration. Mount Pleasant is honored to be Vermont's only non-profit crematory.
