We are a Physician-Led, Direct Primary Care (DPC) family medicine practice that reunites the physician and patient in a proactive relationship. We are driven by the idea that there is a better way. A better way to provide primary care. A better way to help people take charge of their health. Our people are our patients.
At Palmetto Proactive, don't be surprised if our physicians spend more time with you than what you may be accustomed to. Our philosophy is based on working with each patient to address their health in a proactive manner, rather than just treating illnesses or disease. To do that effectively, our physicians spend more time with each patient, getting to know them and working with them to develop an individualized healthcare plan.
Like a good business, we believe in the value of relationships. At Palmetto Proactive Healthcare, that value begins with accessibility to care and time to form a proactive patient-physician relationship. With smaller patient panels, our physicians and other clinical team members are able to get and keep your employees well.
We believe everyone should have insurance. If you cannot afford coverage, we may be the doctors for you. Since we do not contract with insurance companies, we can charge 50-70% less than other medical clinics. If you are lucky enough to have a $20 co-pay and are satisfied with your medical visits, we may not be the doctor's office for you.

I drove about 20 minutes to this practice because they take in walk-in patients, but today I came in and was told that they stopped taking walk-in patients a year ago because of COVID, but i came with my daughter less than a month ago without an appointment and we were attended to. Office staff needs better patient care manners for sure

I've brought my daughter here for the past few years for a sports physical. I had always had a pleasant experience, until today. We walked in around 4:20, they close at 5 but we have done it before and are usually in and out by 5 with no problem (my child doesn't like missing any school). Well, today the receptionist tells me that they do not do walk-ins after 2:00. There were no patients in sight. If this is in fact true, then the website should say as much. I just feel like they just wanted to go home. It is unfortunate because we have always been pleased with the service from the doctors there

WOW! What an awesome Physician Dr. McCarthy is! I usually HATE going to the Dr. but I am so glad I chose to come here! Dr. McCarthy didnt rush me in and out, listened to EVERY concern I have had. And we came up with a treatment plan together! I cannot believe how great he is. The Holy Grail of Physicians! I will never go anywhere else! I hate to let the secret out, but I cant sing his praises enough!

I had a fantastic experience with Palmetto Proactive. My wife was able to get an appointment for me the day that she called. Their location was easy to find and the office environment was welcoming. I didn't have to sit in the waiting room for very long and when Dr. McCarthy saw me I didn't feel rushed at all. Way less paperwork and hassle, since they don't deal with insurance - and the fee was extremely reasonable. I'll definitely plan on using these guys again. Highly recommended.

The doctors and staff here are the BEST! They are competent, helpful, and empathetic - exactly the way a medical clinic should be. I cannot say enough positive things about Palmetto Proactive Healthcare! After being turned down by six other clinics for a physical for my visa application, they not only conducted my physical, but also helped me expedite my blood test results to meet the deadline. Highly recommended!

This place is the best. Affordable, staff is pleasant, doctors are knowledgeable. Yes - sometimes, you do have to wait, but it's like that pretty much in any reputable/established doctor's office...esp. one like this one that runs on a schedule but also takes walk ins...so the complaint that is listed here about waiting 30 minutes to be seen...that doesn't seem out of the ordinary to me IMO. I've waited up to 2 hours in other doctor's offices - and they ran on a schedule only - and never took in unpredictable daily walk ins.
