Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and autism are both general terms for a group of complex disorders of brain development. These disorders are characterized, in varying degrees, by difficulties in social interaction, verbal and nonverbal communication and repetitive behaviors.

Occupational Therapy helps people of all ages participate in the things they want and need to do through the therapeutic use of everyday activities (occupations). Unlike other professions, occupational therapy helps people function in all of their environments (e.g., home, work, school, community) and addresses the physical, psychological, and cognitive aspects of their well-being through engagement in occupation.
Pediatric Occupational Therapy focuses on the "occupations" or "jobs" of childhood such as play, socialization, and self-care and school performance. At Personalized Therapy, our pediatric Occupational Therapists help children develop the skills needed for functional independence in these important developmental areas.

Been going for two years, and have made significant progress. These ladies (plus one guy) are priceless! So many times, I walked in, in a horrible mood over my disability, and they'd have me laughing within five minutes. While expertly treating me, of course. I love their combination of fun and professionalism.
