Leigh and Mark have cultivated a special kind of magic in the mountains.
I met Leigh virtually by inquiring about temporary accommodation for some seasonal work I was doing in 2014. She took me in for 2 weeks as a guest while connecting me to a neighbour that had a spare room for rent, in exchange for bartending their special events and soup Sunday community meals. And after repaying the kindness, continued to help out where I could as Spillian transitioned from bed-and-breakfast to full-functioning event space.

When I held my company retreat here every single employee raved about the experience. This place (it seems unfair to use such a typical word like that) is overflowing with myth and art which is exactly what’s needed to spark inspiration. I’ve visited Spillian too many times to count now and each time it feels like some part of my own story is being uncovered as mystery and magic welcomes me. I could write volumes about the service as well… and the food… but I’ll sum it up with the fact that we have just scheduled a wedding there for our oldest daughter. ❤️

Yeah, what they said! Spillian is a perfect venue for weddings, family and friend celebrations, or just to visit for a special event. The mansion is absolutely amazing with antiques and stories in every room and corner. The grounds truly are a beautiful and peaceful nature-filled feast for the eyes and imagination. The hosts are inviting, fun and funny, and super attentive to your needs, comfort and questions and I made it a point to chat with staff when possible and all were delightful and helpful. I cannot say enough about the magic of this place! I had my 50th birthday party there, and they did an amazing job hosting us for the weekend! 30+ people for 4 meals, including a few special diets, and we always felt so cared for! The rooms are gorgeous! And even though it was raining all weekend, we never felt unhappy about being in the house.
Leigh and Mark are gracious, generous, warm hosts. They go out of their way for guests, AND take awesome care of their staff. 3 years later, my guests still rave about the place. One couple even dreams of coming back and having their wedding there.

I have been there for a few events (wedding, seminar, and trout tales) and the best word that I can think of to describe it is magical! Leigh and her staff are simply warm and fabulous. The rooms are beautiful and very tastefully decorated in unique themes. I have stayed in the Jules Verne room, but my favorite is the medieval knight room (There is a tapestry in that one that I could contemplate for hours. The food has always been fun and fantastic and has never failed to impress. I look forward to returning to Spillian soon!

I spent several days at Spillian for a workshop and cannot tell you how much I enjoyed the surrounds, accommodation, food and service. The room was very comfortable and I loved sitting on the wrap around deck first thing in the morning, watching the day wake up.
Leigh and team are phenomenal and work very hard behind the scenes to make a magical experience that you step into, seem effortless. Do not hesitate to make Spillian the venue for your event - you won’t be disappointed!

This is a magical place, cultivated by magical people. I worked for Spillian and all its splendor a few years back and it was one of the most fulfilling experiences of my life. Exceptional guests, fabulous staff, glorious grounds and the best bosses east of the mighty Mississippi. Spillian is more then just a place, it’s an experience! My love for this place and the people that make it magical goes beyond words. If you have never been, I encourage you to visit! Kudos to Mark and Leigh for having a vision and making it reality!

An awesome weekend in a relaxing and interesting environment.Our group all enjoyed the facilities an surrounding grounds.
The food was amazing! Christian did an excellent job with every meal...we are still drooling over Saturday's dinner.
The rooms are detailed and comfortable. A story for each with a decor to match...yet every room was comfortable and cozy. We had no problem falling asleep each night.
The grounds are beautiful and our hikes through the historic wooded trials led to many interesting views.
