If you have arrived at this site, you have likely been feeling bad for quite some time. You have probably tried to manage your problems alone, or with support from friends or family, but somehow, that has not quite been enough. You may be wondering why you continue having the same relationship problems over and over, or the same painful feelings and reactions to life, people and situations.

Or perhaps you have just suffered a loss, crisis or tragedy that you feel overwhelmed by and unable to cope with. You don't understand why, despite all your best efforts to cope or change, you continue to feel so bad. Psychotherapy is designed to help you make sense of all of these difficulties. Many of the problems you are suffering with in the present are symptoms of underlying unresolved issues from the past.
Services
Psychodynamic psychotherapy is similar to psychoanalysis in its view that emotional difficulties are connected to one's unconscious conflicts. Psychodynamic therapy is typically more short-term than psychoanalysis, although both address how one's unconscious is contributing to current thoughts, beliefs, feelings and behaviors.
Emotional Intelligence is a way of recognizing, understanding, and choosing how we think, feel, and act. It shapes our interactions with others and our understanding of ourselves. It defines how and what we learn; it allows us to set priorities; it determines the majority of our daily actions. Research suggests it is responsible for as much as 80% of the "success" in our lives."
Most, if not all of our trauma occurs in the context of interpersonal relationships. Therefore, healing would naturally occur in the context of a trusting, safe, reliable relationship. The building of this new relationship itself provides a "corrective emotional experience".

A skilled therapist makes it safe for you to talk about those things you have either repressed and "forgotten" about, or are too scared or uncomfortable talking about with people in your life.

I am extremely fortunate to have met Terry. Terry is my clinical supervisor and has been for approximately two years. She has been the key to building my practice. I've learned so much from Terry, clinically and personally. Terry teaches us to be compassionate, patient, and to actively participate in the push toward social justice. I'm truly grateful for Terry and recommend her to anyone looking for a therapist or clinical supervisor.

I have been working with Terrry for several months now and she has helped me tremendously. She is non-judgemental and I always feel that she is paying close attention to what I say and remembers what I have said previously. I appreciate her comments and have been helped so much in a very short time. I know that selecting a therapist is very personal, but I highly recommend Terry.
