Adirondack Woodcraft Camps is an overnight summer camp for boys & girls. Established in 1925, our summer camp is located in the Adirondack Mountains in Old Forge, New York. Adirondack Woodcraft Camps offers a traditional summer camp program with an emphasis on outdoor leadership and wilderness living skills. Summer campers from ages 6 to 17 who come to Woodcraft immediately identify with something deep inside themselves that the camp evokes.
Services
Our summer camp mission is to help kids and teens find courage, build resilience, and learn to care for themselves, their friends and the natural world around them. Since 1925, summer campers from around the world have come to Woodcraft to slow down, open up, explore and grow.

The atmosphere at Adirondack Woodcraft Camps is non-competitive, friendly & fun! Woodcraft is small by design and campers love the sense of freedom and connection they feel as they learn, grow, and build amazing friendships amidst the pristine setting of "their" camp in the Adirondacks.Leadership Team: Camp Owners & Directors Doug & Christina Bartlett live at camp full time with their three children and Golden Retriever, Sunny.
The magic of summer camp at Adirondack Woodcraft Camps stretches over fields and forest and fills the space between. You can hear it in the whisper of the pines, the giggles in the cabins, and the swoosh of a paddle. You can see it in the smile of an understanding counselor and the star-filled night sky.
Greetings from Adirondack Woodcraft Camps! We can't wait to welcome you to our summer camp family. At Woodcraft, campers have the chance to step into a world full of adventure, friendships and growth. Together with our dedicated staff, we work intentionally to create a challenging and nurturing environment where each camper feels safe to explore new interests, discover unique talents, embark on new trails and be goofy and free.
My daughter went to this camp for the first time this summer and absolutely loved it. She will definitely be going back next summer. The camp directors Christina and Doug Bartlett never tire in their efforts to make the campers happy and safe! My daughter bonded with her cabin friends and her counselors very quickly.
Adirondack Woodcraft Camps was founded in 1925 by William Chief' Abbott. Mr. Abbott couldn't help but share his own transformative experience. You can stand today at the very spot of land where he envisioned a haven of learning for kids. Chief went on to lovingly guide Woodcraft for more than 50 years.

Such a beautiful venue! Not what I would have expected from a summer camp but, it had so many stunning places for photos, a lovely arch for the ceremony and the room for the reception was spacious and had a great rustic feel. It was also peak fall so the foliage was amazing! It was a really lovely day!

I was a camper here in 1965 and 1966 and have many special memories. But the one that stands out was when Bob Dylan visited one night in 1966, just before his accident. Our counsellor and Bob were boyhood friends in Hibbing, Minnesota, and Bob was living in Woodstock, NY then.

This camp is a true gem. I sent my 12 year old daughter there for the first time this year and could not be happier with her experience. She learned to paddle the stern of a canoe, pitch a tent, make a camp fire and even squash a bug (which, trust me, is a big deal!) She made wonderful friends and found all kinds of new confidence and courage inside herself. Christina and Doug are amazing in the nurturing environment they've created and the attention they give to the individual camper. It was a definite growth experience for my daughter and she's looking forward to going back next year

Such a wonderful camp! Truly special and above and beyond my expectations. Our daughter went for the first time last year and it was delightful to see how much she grew and developed in her time there. She enjoyed it so much too! Doug and Christina are summer camp veterans with many years of experince as campers themseleves and also running various summer camps around the country. This camp is a lifelong project in the making, and your child will feel that level of attention to detail from activities, councillors, how the camp is organised, and how the campers are cared for - and cared about. My 5 daughters and my grandson are all Woodcraft campers. This experience promotes independence, a sense of life as adventure, connection to this earth that we call home, and creates a global family of AWC alum. I have had the incredible pleasure of being on AWC Team Kitchen since 2001, can you smell the famous chocolate chip cookies and homemade cinnamon rolls of opening day?
Also the most stunning place for a wedding!

Attended a wedding here in which the entire camp was rented out for 2 days. It's a beautiful and rustic camp right on a small pond. There are many small cabins scattered out amongs the trees along with a great large open mess hall in the center. Plenty of hiking and walking trails scattered about to pass the time.
