The youth and families that enjoy Camp Shalom come from a variety of denominations, but they come together to explore what it means to be one in Christ. Campers often do this without realizing it. They seem too busy having fun. Then you see their eyes at a campfire or hear them share their thoughts during a Bible study and realize they are discovering the depth of their faith.
When you pass through the entrance of Camp Shalom it's as though you have entered a new world. The flatness of the prairie is lost in the twisting and turning of the camp road, you quickly find yourself surrounded by tall trees and rolling hills. It is a place of peace where the cares of the world melt away.

If you are looking for something fun for your child or family to do during the summer, you need to make time to attend summer camp at Camp Shalom. Not only will it be a great time, but you will also find a sense of peace as you take time for yourself, others, and your relationship with God. When you pass through the entrance of Camp Shalom it's as though you have entered a new world.
Camp Shalom is a Christ-centered, non-denominational Christian camp. All are welcome, and we are blessed to be able to share in the "time and place apart" that is our mission. Daily worship, prayer and bible study comprise a small portion of the day, but faith and striving to be the best version of our self is central to camp ministry.
Camp Shalom offers the opportunity for adults with disabilities to "Soar" as they challenge themselves to maximize their potential. There will be a 3-day/2-night session available. Several adjustments are made for this camp session. The staff-to-camper ratio is much smaller, and the number of activities each day is reduced.
The Village is the original cabin community at Camp Shalom. For decades young people have been introduced to outdoor ministry in this beautiful, peaceful setting. Campers in the Village have access to a shower house facility and eat at the Program Center. While each cabin is its own small community, cabins are close enough to each other to form a larger community.
Campers stay in tree-house cabins that are located in a secluded area of camp that offers the ultimate camp experience. Outpost campers will cook their own breakfast and eat meals in the Outpost pavilion, which also serves as a shower house. Outpost campers are encouraged to create some of their own activities and explore their abilities in overcoming new and different challenges.

I grew up attending Camp Shalom as a child. It was always my favorite week of the summer. Camp helped me grow in my faith life and create friendships. I eventually volunteered as an Assistant Counselor and later became a summer staff member. I've worked as the temporary Administrative Assistant and been a volunteer/Board Member.
I cannot imagine my life without the positive impact of Camp Shalom.
