Ulland Investment Advisors (UIA) was founded by James Ulland in 1997. Its five investment strategies (Intelligent Fixed Income, Intelligent Fixed Income IG, Defensive Growth, Intelligent Blend and Strategic Equity) seek to achieve above-market returns through a combination of growth and income. UIA understands that each of its clients has different needs when it comes to their investments.
Ulland investment Advisors, LLC is an investment advisor currently registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). An investment advisor is different than a broker-dealer; investment advisors and broker-dealers provide different services and charge fees in different manners. It is important for you to understand the differences.
Investment Objective: The strategy's investment objective is to provide long-term total return and current income. The strategy has the flexibility to invest in corporate bonds and other subordinated debt securities in addition to holding cash or cash equivalents. The strategy has the flexibility to invest in investment grade, below investment grade or non-rated securities.
Ulland Investment Advisors' Intelligent Fixed Income strategy was ranked #2 in Lipper's U.S. fixed income universe for Q3 2020. The universe includes 1,180 money mangers/funds who reported Q3 returns across all fixed income styles. Much has been written about the benefits of investing in passive exchange-traded funds (ETFs), namely market returns with a low management fee.
