Meet the Staff Report

Dr. Jennifer Wahlen attended Weber State University, and the University of Utah before completing her Doctorate of Dental Medicine at the University of Louisville School of Dentistry in 1999. She is a member of the American Dental Association, Utah Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry.

Jenny has been our dentist for a few years and we absolutely adore her! I've also had an appointment with John Torghele, and he also is a great dentist! The staff is super friendly. They give plenty of appointment reminders, which I need! Jenny has made it such a wonderful experience that even my kids look forward to going to her now! We love Wahlen dentistry!

Everything is very good, service and treatment. I really like their system 'texted reminders' and 'day before check in' for the appointments. Mostly because if you have memory issues as I do, if you miss an appointment, they are threatening charges again for no shows. So make god damned sure you cancel properly so you dont get charged a punishment fee, if you cant make it.

All is well if you dont forget your appointment. I can see both sides of the fee reasons / concerns. My opinion, the punishment fee amount should never be anywhere near to the service amount.

I had my first visit at Wahlen Dentistry this week. I moved to Perry from SLC and wanted to find a new dentist, locally. I went in for what I thought was a loose crown but mentioned to Dr. J Torghele that I've clenched my teeth, in my sleep, for years. He recommended a night guard, which no dentist had ever mentioned before, despite knowing I had the problem.

I got the guard yesterday and this morning, for the first time in years, my teeth didn't hurt when I woke up, my jaw didn't hurt and I didn't have my usual headache. I'm extremely grateful.

Wahlen Dentistry was great! They got me on the schedule really fast. Signing paperwork was easy and fast to-do online. Then when I got there they checked me in and got me back in a room very quickly. The staff were really friendly and professional, and they were able to help answer all of my questions. I appreciated how honest they were about my treatment plan, and didn't suggest doing any work that was unnecessary. Feels good knowing that this place actually cares and isn't just trying to get my money.

The assistants and the dentist are quite literally the best Ive ever had. Fantastic staff. I always feel like Im going to visit family when I go to the dentist. Kind of an odd thing to say, but it really is true. I get a special cleaning every 6 months that other dentist have made hurt, so bad. This place takes the time and makes the procedure WAY more comfortable. Also, shout out to the front desk staff. Best in the world!

I have high anxiety and a phobia of getting dentistry work.
These people go above and beyond in helping me cope. Everything from the hygienist doing breathing exercises with me to putting lavender in a diffuser! They really go above and beyond. For the first time in 10 years I am not afraid to go to the dentist because I know they can handle my anxiety (which in turn lessens the anxiety!) Highly recommend!

Our entire family loves Dr. Jenny! Even when we lived out of state for graduate school, we would schedule our appts for when we were in town visiting family so that we could see Dr. Jenny.
Staff is always so accommodating, even so far as, when we had insurance they didn't accept for a time, referring us to a neighboring dentist that did and making efforts to reduce cost if we chose to have work done by Whalen.
As a child I had some trauma associated with going to the dentist, but my kids get over-the-moon excited when I tell them we have dental appts.

I'm very surprised there are not more reviews here. I have lived in many places and had several different dentists taking care of the effects of an auto accident when I was a teen. Dr Wahlen is the best dentist I've ever experienced in my life. She is patient, professional, sincere, and careful. If you are lucky enough to live near her then she should be your first choice. I trust her (and her awesome staff!) with my dental Heath AND my family's health!
