Mohawk Harvest Cooperative Market began as a result of like-minded community members who wanted an alternative shopping experience - one that did not include chain supermarkets, and did include sustainability, local products, and growing the local economy.
As more community members purchased shares of the Co-op, and business expanded, the store moved across the street, less than a block south of its original location and here it still resides, at 30 N. Main Street. The Co-op has been referred to as the "gem" of downtown Gloversville and has grown substantially from its beginning.

Teach a class: We are currently offering monthly classes on homemade goods, cooking, and other topics. Are you knowledgeable? Do you have a skill you'd like to share with your community? Why should you join as a member-shareholder of Mohawk Harvest Co-op? You will be investing in downtown Gloversville and supporting a business with a mission to provide healthy food and support local farmers and producers! Any profit the Co-op makes will be returned to its member-shareholders in the form of a dividend.
The co-op has had its ups and downs recently. We are now working to keep the co-op open, despite short staffing. We want to structure new volunteer participation to our most pressing needs, and put our members to work to open the co-op's doors longer and wider. If you are an interested member, please contact our volunteer coordination committee at volunteer@mohawkharvest.org.
For decades Gloversville, as the name implies, was a world-wide center of glove manufacturing with a vibrant downtown area. Most of the beautiful buildings remain and Mohawk Harvest resides in one of them - the historic Schine Memorial Hall. We're proud that Mohawk Harvest Co-op began as part of the revitalization of our Downtown and invite you to visit & shop downtown.
We will post job openings at Mohawk Harvest here as they come up and we invite you to learn more about them and apply. Any openings will be listed below under 'Open Positions'. If you wish to apply, simply download the application, complete it and return with whatever other documents are required (resume, cover letter, etc.) following directions for the position below.
