For those of you who live on the northeast side of Charlotte, but who can't get to our University location on Medical Plaza Drive, try making an appointment at our Rocky River location on Brookdale Drive. We're located at 9651 Brookdale Drive, in the same center as Harris Teeter.

We provide both medical and routine eye care, therefore we accept and file many medical and vision insurance plans. At University Eye Associates, each member of our vision care team is selected by our optometrists based upon his or her experience, professional demeanor, and dedication to providing personalized care to our optometry patients. Our entire optometry staff is committed to ensuring the comfort and satisfaction of each and every patient.
Dr. Maggie Metwalli received her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Michigan College of Optometry in 1995 and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. She completed a residency program at SUNY State College of Optometry in corneal disease and contact lenses, followed by a one year research fellowship in contact lenses and laser vision correction.

New patient to University Eye Associates in Davidson and was very impressed with every aspect of my care in the office. All staff was really friendly and knowledgeable. Dr. Claire Schmidt is fantastic! I have been attending Univ Eye Assoc at the Davidson location since moving to the area in 2013. Without fail, Dr. Schmidt never ceases to amaze me with her thorough exams and careful explanations. She kindly answers any questions you might have and really goes above and beyond any doctor I have ever had. She is so great that 2 of 5 years I have been seeing her, I have made sure to schedule around her maternity leave as to make sure I can see her and no one else! Highly recommended.
Optical shop staff is also very helpful and they have a nice selection.

A friend recommended them and I am so happy she did. I had only one day off to make the appointment for my daughter and they were able to get her in. On the day of the appointment we were a little late bc Mapquest took me to the wrong place. The receptionist was so nice and welcoming. We only waited a little while. They took us in and examined my daughter. We only waited about 5mins for the doctor and she quickly examined my daughter. They were very friendly and easy going with my daughter. I chuckled when reading a review that claimed Dr Best is the best, but he truly is.
I booked my appointment several weeks ago after finding University Eye Associates listed under my insurance. The lady on the phone instructed me to go to the website to fill out my new patient paperwork. She gave very good instructions that made it very easy to find and complete the paperwork. This made it very easy when I walked into the office. Instead of spending 20 minutes filling out a clipboard full of forms, I was able to sit and wait to be called back.
My appointment was at 1:40. I was called back at 1

My 13 year-old son is studying at Davidson College this summer, over 1,000 miles away from our home in Kansas. He managed to do irreparable damage to his glasses one evening, which left me dependent on an insurance provider list and google maps to find him a new pair.
