At Palmetto Eye, our goal is promote good eye health and enable you to have the clearest vision possible. We accept several types of vision insurance, cash, checks, and most credit cards. We inform our Rock Hill patients about exam and treatment costs at the beginning of your appointment. If you require a breakdown of costs, please let us know.
Dr. Paul Burt has been practicing optometry in greater Rock Hill since 2003. Dr. Burt graduated cum laude from Franciscan University in 1997, attended Indiana University/Purdue University at Indianapolis (IUPUI) for pre-med, and earned his Doctorate in Optometry from Indiana University, graduating with academic and clinical honors in 2003.
Dr. Melissa Wood has been practicing in York County since 2005 and joined Palmetto Eye in 2014. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Presbyterian College and her Doctorate of Optometry from Southern College of Optometry. Dr. Wood is ABO board certified and is also past president of the SC Optometric Physicians Association.

Everyone was so nice and professional at Palmetto Eye yesterday. It was my first visit after recently moving to Rock Hill. Dr. Melissa Wood was wonderful. She spent a good amount of time with me answering all my questions and explaining all the results of my check up. I am very happy to have found this place!

Katheryn and I love Dr Woods. She explained everything to us and was very thorough. The girls in the glasses area are super helpful and checkout process was very quick. From coming in to the office to leaving, the staff were absolutely great!! I would highly recommend Palmetto Eye to anyone. Thanks to everyone today that helped us!!

I made an appt with Dr. Wood because my normal eye doctor was unavailable for a month and I really couldn't wait. Dr. Wood provided me with the best eye appt. I have every had. This was the first eye Doctor I had that actually truly investigated why I had dry eyes, discussed thoroughly with me what she found after doing some tests and gave me suggestions I could do at home along with a prescription I could afford and has reassured me if this doesn't work there are other things I could try so not to be worried. We have been going to this office and seeing Dr Burt for the 3 years we have lived down here. I wear contacts and glasses and my husband wears glasses. Last Wednesday I picked up my glasses. They did not fit properly so the following Wednesday, yesterday when my husband had picked his new glasses, I had mine adjusted. The very white haired lady said it was the best she could although they still slid down my nose. That night when I took them off the left arm broke off. The screw sheared off horizontally at the head of the screw. I went in at 12:15pm. I sat in the glasses area, all 3 women

I really enjoyed the staff at this office. It was my first time here , along with my kids. Dr. Melissa saw us and she was FANTASTIC! She made all of us very comfortable and was thorough during the exams. Darla helped me pick out some frames and she was as sweet as can be. My glasses came in less than a week. The only thing I should of done was wait to get my contact lens exam til next year. I was charged $65 out of pocket and I already had a 6 month supply of contacts already.
