Crouthers Academy
We support early childhood learning philosophies that stress the importance of play, hands-on-learning and whole child development. Custom-designed curriculum for each age group enables a high-quality learning environment. The Crouthers Academy is a full-day educational child care program for working parents with children ages six weeks through six years.

We provide each child with a safe, clean, and nurturing environment in which they can grow and learn at their own pace. Conveniently located in the Chesterfield Valley, we serve the community of Chesterfield and the Chesterfield Commons commercial area. Our teachers encourage infants to actively explore their world and interact with others through music, story time, art, exercise, and play.

Leslie is the on site owner of the Crouthers Academy. She has over 20 years experience in the Early Childhood industry. Leslie has taught, directed and worked as a child care specialist. Her goal at the Crouthers Academy is to ensure every child's safety and happiness. Leslie has a strong background in curriculum development and accreditation to ensure your child will meet and exceed developmental guidelines.
Our school offers both full and part time child care programs. The curriculum offers each child an individualized learning environment where the child can excel. Our extended day childcare programs also offer supplementary activities of gymnastics, foreign language and music. In the summer months we offer a camp program in addition to our program curriculum and traditional childcare services.
As fellow parents, we understand that your highest hopes and aspirations are reserved for your children. With that in mind, we support early childhood learning philosophies that stress the importance of play, hands-on-learning and whole child development. Like many programs, we promote cognitive, fine motor skills, gross motor skills, and social development.
Our infant room is a nurturing environment that keeps babies safe, secure, and content. Our teachers encourage infants to actively explore their world and interact with others through music, story time, art, exercise, and play. Baby Sign Language is introduced in the Infant Nursery and further developed in the Toddler Program.
The center is a state of the art building designed and built to the owner's specifications as a childcare facility. The facility has many features that provide a safe, clean environment for the children and enhance classroom management for teachers. A security door, security camera, and observation windows monitor visitors to the center.

Child care is obviously challenging, that's why we pay people to do it, but not everyone is up to the task. The teachers are really wonderful, but it feels like senior management is overwhelmed and can't really figure out a cohesive strategy for the business.

We have three children at Crouthers right now and we wouldn’t pick anywhere else! Many of the teachers have become like family being with my kids from the day they started there. It’s sometimes hard as a working parent knowing other people will spend more hours in a week with your kids, but we couldn’t be happier with our experience. Other perks include their fun summer schedule, spirit weeks, class offerings (soccer, gymnastics) and my kids would say the candy bowl! 😂

Crouthers Academy is THE quintessential daycare/preschool. My son has been attending Crouthers for over 4 years, since he was 6 weeks old. As a full time working mother, finding the best school at fair pricing was my top priority. I have to say that Crouthers exceeded my expectations and hopes.
The staff is caring, attentive, interactive, and you can tell they truly care about the children. I have no doubt that this is because they learn from the top down. Leslie Crouthers, the owner, is very involved with both the Chesterfield and the Eureka locations. She is hands on, has been in the child care

We love Crouthers! It really is about the great people who work there. The teachers genuinely seem like they care about helping my children be happy and healthy. They aren't just babysitters who tolerate kids, but instead try to teach and nurture them. They have taught my daughter far more/better than I could and I know they'll do the same for my son.

Words cannot express the thanks that my family has for each and every Crouthers Academy early childhood teacher and staff person that has been a part of our family.
The teachers and director look at each child as an individual, with their own strengths and needs. My child has learned so much and continues to share with me the great activities that go on each day at "school! I could say more about the office staff, extra activities, etc. But in short, I recommend Crouthers Academy to all of my neighbors.

I have been blessed enough to be able to send my son to Crouthers Academy since he was 6 weeks old. I am not able to work from home or be a stay at home mom, therefore, I knew I had to find a daycare that would be able to provide my son with love, stimulation, and people that truly care for him and his well being. There are so many horror stories about daycares that don't care or try to make kids grow up too fast and not be kids. Not to mention the ones that are neglectful and only in it for the money. After a lot of research by my husband and I, we decided that Crouthers Academy was the place

Both of my boys started at Crouthers Academy when they were 8 weeks old. As a parent, you need the peace of mind to know that your child(ren) is getting the best care possible in your absence. I have never once doubted that my boys are getting that at Crouthers. Leslie has put together an amazing team and they treat each child like they are their own. Each room has a set daily schedule so that there is order and routine, and the teachers are truly focused on curriculum and learning in a nurturing environment. It’s fun to hear my 4.5 year old talking about what he’s learned and the activities

We had the pleasure of having Crouthers Academy care for our two children for the two years of living in the Chesterfield area. At the beginning of this year, we moved to Illinois and one thing is for sure--there is no other place like it! Crouthers is a true family, where each and everyone of their employees, all the way up through management, cared deeply for our kids. The center is spacious, impeccably clean and filled with stimulating toys and art supplies. The food they serve was always healthy and high quality. The summer program they designed for the kids is unbeatable! My son had so much

My son Jackson has attended Crouthers Academy since March and absolutely LOVES it! As an educator myself; it was important for me to find a program that combines strong pre-academics with a loving environment that will help him grow socially as well. He loves his teachers as well as the office staff that play an active role in making certain that every student at Crouthers has exactly what they need. As a staff they do an amazing job of making certain that not only the children are taken care of, but that the parents are as well. They know all parents and students immediately, and there is nothing
