David Scheer, a Doctoral Candidate with an M.S. in clinical psychology from PGSP Stanford University Psy. D. Consortium, is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Virginia and Maryland.
After receiving extensive training in treating Post Traumatic Stress, and Substance Use Disorders, David spent two years in a Maryland private practice working with couples, families, and individuals from a wide range of ages, ethnicities and socio-economic backgrounds.

Having spent the first part of his career in 3 different VA hospitals, treating hundreds of veterans, David has a special affinity for military veterans. He has become certified in Cognitive Processing Therapy and Prolonged Exposure Therapy for PTSD. Additionally, David has extensive experience working with veterans struggling with substance use disorders.
Far too many Americans choose to litigate their divorces, rather than seek mediation with the goal of filing an uncontested divorce. The consequences of that decision is, more often than not, a lasting dissatisfaction, and even regret. This is not just our opinion. There is a wealth of empirical research that supports the notion that mediation leads to far better outcomes for both parties.

Lawyers are trained to litigate, oppose, and argue on their client's behalf. Sit in a Juvenile & Domestic or Circuit courtroom for a few hours and count how many times an attorney says, "Objection." In fact, while you're at it, observe a divorce trial or two. Listen to the opposing attorneys attack the other's client, behavior, character, and values.
