Probate is the court process of transferring the property of someone who has died to their heirs or beneficiaries. Since it occurs after someone has died, it is a process that often a grieving family member must endure. We never lose sight of the fact that at the beginning of every probate case is the ending of a life.
Estate planning is never a one-size-fits-all proposition. Your estate plan will be customized to your specific circumstances. A single adult with no children cannot benefit from an estate plan better suited to a married couple with dependents.
At our firm, Lauren N. Peebles spends time getting to know you and what is important to you and then explains your options after discussing your assets and desired distribution upon incapacity and after death. The Law Office of Lauren N. A will is the most common estate planning document. It contains instructions for the distribution of your assets and may also include burial preferences, guardian information for your children, and any plans for charitable giving. This is often the best option for those who can distribute property directly to their heirs.
A living trust is a legal document that can, in some cases, partially substitute for a will. With a revocable living trust, your assets are put into the trust, administered for your benefit during your lifetime and transferred to your beneficiaries when you die-all without the need for court involvement.
Whether you choose a will or trust, also consider a power of attorney too. If you become incapacitated or need someone to manage your affairs if you are unavailable, a power of attorney grants this power to an agent you appoint in the power of attorney. A durable power of attorney assigns duties to your agent concerning financial matters, which can be vital if you run your own business or carry out other substantial tasks on a day-to-day basis.

My uncle died in September of 2019. His estate included a house which he left without a will, which had previouly been my grandma's. He had designated his girlfriend as the beneficiary of his retirement account. After his girlfriend went through the house looking for a will which designated her as the beneficiary, she contacted me to let me know that myself and my brother and sister were the heirs of the house. I went to see Lauren Peebles right away. After having sold the house and split it 3 ways, after settling the Estate, I am very happy with the service she provided, especially during the

The Law Office of Lauren N. Peebles was extremely helpful during a very stressful time. My uncle passed away during the holidays, and not being from California, I had been given much conflicting advice from well meaning friends and family. From the first phone call, answered by a knowledgeable and compassionate person, I knew they would be able to help. Lauren was able to make sense of my uncles paperwork, and gave me guidance to settle my uncles estate. I would highly recommend the Law Office of Lauren N. Peebles.

Our family needed an attorney for our complex estate issue. Family friend, Attorney Renee Lias recommended Lauren Peebles.
Lauren put our minds at ease when she reviewed the documents we had which were a Will and T O D both were null and void.
With a receipt from Legal Zoom Lauren obtained a copy of a forgotten trust her motion for validity of the trust was granted. Lauren was able to avoid probate. This entire process took approximately 6 months.
Lauren also referred an exceptional CPA Connie Truitt for all tax purposes and Felicia Duncan for real estate. Lauren is an educated, experienced
