Coming to The Pines for the first time, I was very impressed! Very beautiful nursing home out in the woods. My favorite thing about The Pines is that there is so much wild life for the residents to see. Every day there's either deer, baby geese, sand hill cranes and much more. There is even an eagles nest in view as well. Inside the building it's very homey feeling with very large rooms for the residents.

About three years ago, a loved one suffered a traumatic injury, resulting in limited use of the limbs and impacted capacities in other areas. Additionally, there was an existing condition whose treatment needed to be worked into the program for recovery.
After numerous evaluations and surgeries in the university hospital and a months-long stay in a post-acute hospital, the time came for placement in an environment that offered continued treatment for the traumatic injury, appropriate therapy, and careful monitoring of medications for the pre-existing condition.
One facility after another declined
