Pioneering Standards We believe in pioneering higher standards of veterinary care for our community. We believe in changing what a veterinary practice can mean to you, and the way it can make an impact in your life. It starts with practicing gold-standard medicine, to every single patient, on every single visit.
It's why we have earned the rare AAHA accreditation; we believe in excellence in everything we do. We think deeply about how to better care for your pets. It's why we are a Fear Free accredited practice. This is our vision for a new standard of veterinary medicine. Because love deserves the best. Passion To us, caring for your pet the best way we know how isn't just a profession.

Krislyn (Kristi) DeLeon grew up in a small Southeastern Kansas town where there were always lots of animals around. Some of my best memories are of spending time at my grandparent's farm and working as a horse wrangler at Girl Scout camp during the summer. My passion for veterinary medicine solidified when at the age of 16 I started working at ElDorado Animal Clinic.
We love this community for so many reasons. But above all, we love it because the love that you share with your pet truly inspires us. We believe in caring for every pet we see like our own. That's why we are always pushing to raise standards of care, deepen medicine, and enhance the life that your pet lives by your side.
Not all animal hospitals are accredited. Nearly 60% of pet owners think their pet's veterinary hospital is accredited when it is not. In fact, only about 3,700 (12-15%) animal hospitals in the United States and Canada are accredited. At Mt. McKinley Animal Hospital, we hold ourselves to a higher standard, and promise that your pet is receiving care at a hospital that has passed the highest standards in veterinary care.
Aska Animal Welfare Foundation There is a growing movement within the veterinary industry. A movement to rethink the way that we care for pets. This movement is based upon the premise that a pet's emotional well-being is intimately tied to the level of care they receive. That's because, when a pet experiences stress, hormones change their body temperature, blood pressure, and heart rate.
We know pet owners want the best in medical care for their pets, and we recommend each pet be covered by pet insurance so you can give your companion the best veterinary care possible. Be prepared for the unexpected pet health problems with pet insurance, and rest assured that your dog or cat will always receive optimal treatment in the unfortunate case of an accident or emergency.

So this is going to be 2 reviews in one just to make things easy.
First my dog had broke a molar and got infected. Didn't notice it until her face swelled up on a Friday. Waited until the end of the day to see if the swelling would go down. It got WAY worse. Called my vet, but because i waited to long they couldn't get her in and they are closed on the weekends. So i called Mt. McKinley and they told me to bring her in. They did x-rays and showed me the broke tooth and the horrible infection. Said they could pull it Monday morning. Decided to go ahead and have them do it. Glad i did. Monday morning

My boy Oliver started acting abnormally and after monitoring for two hours decided to call and ask for advice. Being new to the area we weren’t established patients anywhere. The receptionist was so polite and helpful after hearing what was going on with Oliver. He recommended we bring him in to be seen and explained that there would be an urgent care fee which I completely understood. We loaded him up and made our way down to the office. Upon arrival I was told to call and check in and they would get us in as soon as possible. We parked and waited maybe 20 - 25 minutes. The staff worked quickly

5 days ago i called Mt McKinley as i was desperate to see if there was something i could do to keep my cat from suffering as she had taken a turn for the worst and with all the snow I couldn't get out of my driveway nor would've been able to make the hour and a half drive to Fairbanks. I was distraught and just didn't want my kitty to suffer and what the receptionist told me absolutely shocked me to the point of tears. Telling someone they can take their fur animals out back and shoot them is by far the most disgusting callous thing i have ever been told. My animals are like my children and i do

Mt. McKinley offers excellent veterinary care and has a high standard of patient care. Dr. Kuhn takes time to speak with us during each visit and promptly returns calls if we have follow-up questions. Vet Tech, Brenna, is thorough and kind when answering questions and explaining post-op care. Professional, courteous, clean, and well-laid out. I especially appreciate their waiting area with a few toys for my kids to use while waiting.

I brought my dog in to the clinic because she had an eye injury and needed treatment. We have been clients at this clinic for many years and hadn't ever had a bad experience before. We saw Dr. Vaughan. She seemed competent and was good with our dog. The issue I have is her people skills. She came across as demeaning and I felt at times that I was being ridiculed when I would ask questions. I asked her how long to use the eye ointment she prescribed and she gave me a lecture on always reading the label even though the label did not specify. When she told me to use a quarter inch of ointment in my

They were awesome with my dog. He was an Urgent Care walk in and they had him back relatively quick and called me every step of the way. This was his first trip to the vet without us going back and the Tech/Dr were amazing at getting him as comfortable as possible. The bill was 1/3 the quoted price of the After Hours clinic and 1/2 of what I I told them my budget was. I highly recommend them and Dr Chen in particular.

My pets have received care for years. Dr. Chen is my go to for my cats. She is just amazing. The support staff work their tails off and take excellent care when my cats need to be taken to "the back" for things. The front staff are kind and helpful. I hope everyone treats the vets and staff well, they are there to help us with our pets!
