Alejandro's current focus at Dzul Ink Lounge is on tattooing. He was introduced to art at an early age growing up in Los Angeles. He remembers watching his self-taught mother sketch original designs for clothing and feeling inspired to put his own ideas onto paper. His talent was apparent from the beginning as his early sketches began earning Alejandro commissions from neighborhood families.
Jacob has had a lifelong "obsession" with creating art. He showed talent at an early age, and was encouraged by his parents, especially his father who assisted Jacob with his drawing homework in elementary school. As a child, he spent every possible moment developing his artistic talent. In school, Jacob would often get caught sketching pictures instead of focusing on class, where he would trade drawings with classmates for pieces of candy.

Came in for a walk in appt for a septum piercing. I was really nervous but Cata was so sweet, kind, gentle, and efficient. She walked me through each step, made sure i was ready, and comforted me through my anxiety. I had also called prior to ask about the piercing and process and the woman who answered the phone was super nice, informative and patient.
I am absolutely in love my piercing. It was quick, painless, and professional. The location is clean and inviting, the staff are prompt and friendly, and i would recommend it to anyone.

I usually don't like to give bad reviews but I got my belly button pierced here in early October and had a very terrible experience. Due to an issue the piercer had with another customer she was 45 min late to my appointment. I was not given an apology or explanation which rubbed me the wrong way. She was extremely unfriendly and lacked a lot of professionalism which I feel is super important for her occupation. We didn't speak much at all during the appointment which made things really awkward and increased my anxiety. She did my piercing really fast and I felt as if she was trying to

I was there earlier today for two smaller pieces (arm and then thumb) and had such a good experience that I thought I'd write an update and I can't believe my first review was all the way back 2018! Well, since then I've gotten 8 tattoos from Alex. I have 17 tattoos in total, and 8 of them have been done by Alex at Dzul--that's nearly half of all the work on my body.
Once again he was patient and made sure the placement, sizing, shading, etc. were all what I wanted before continuing. I felt bad for trying multiple iterations but I didn't feel any pressure to hurry up

The place is beautiful and the staff is really nice; they were patient with me and helped me pick the right size for my ear piercings. Disappointing. After sending multiple images and a full hour long discussion on what I wanted my custom piece tattoo to look like I wasn't impressed with the one month follow up zoom. I called when I wasn't given a zoom code and informed that they would email me 5 minutes prior to the appointment. It felt rushed and looked nothing like we discussed. It looked like 3 google images plastered together with no effort. Super awesome shop, My wife got her third tattoo here. There were some last minute changes to the art and the Receptionist/Awesome-Person at the front hope to make sure all the right images were there and gave her lots of options to help make sure it was the perfect design.
The artist made sure everything was exactly how she wanted it. They also made me feel very welcomed even though I wasn't getting a tattoo and we all chatted together and they made it feel very relaxed and over all one of the best experiences I've had. Definitely would recommend and I will be going there for my next as well

Alex did an ash infused symbol from my late father's life and business on my wrist. It was someone else's drawing, which is always tough, and I was picky and emotional and a pain about it but they were only polite and helpful and the tattoo is amazing. It actually brought tears to my mom's eyes and the original artist (an accomplished, professional artist) said that she was really moved by the skill and attention to detail from the original. 1. I showed up for my appointment yesterday scheduled at 3:00 P.M. I communicated to the receptionist months in advance (via email) that I wanted an appointment with Alejandro. They booked me with Jacob (wrong artist). I wasn't aware of it until I showed up and another client exclaimed she was there for an appointment with the person I thought was completing my piece. I went in for a consult for a black and grey realism tattoo sleeve. I was turned off with the “what’s your budget” question. Can you say car salesman?? In return I asked how much do their artists charge by the hour to ensure I wasn’t being over charged or given a price at the top of my proposed budget. Where to begin... took advantage of my cousin who does not speak English and overcharged him. They told him his piece would be 900-1,100. When he got the job done it turned out to be 1500! After he explained that he did not have the extra money (he paid them 1200) they took his card and ID as "collateral" which is illegal. I called several weeks ago to make an appointment for a tattoo touch-up. I let them know that I had a wedding coming up and the timeline I was working on. I met with Lex on the "design" team for my consultation - I was okay with the idea of "professional" designers working on mock-ups so I would hopefully know more of what I was getting tattooed "on the day". They explained the process and how the design team is there so the tattoo artists can ink full time, which I thought was cool. Me and my sister wanted to get our noses pierced for her 18th birthday. Of course the day that was most convenient on our trip to Seattle was when she wasn't 18 quite yet, it was the day after. It was my first tattoo in over 10 years I had some less than desirable experiences other shops in the area and their professionalism. Not only we're all the staff at Dzul Ink lounge professional, but they were also incredible artists. The shop manager and Alejandro worked incredibly hard on making my piece perfect. Appointment booking was easy and friendly. The artist took my concept and made it perfect. My tattoo artists work was amazing and I cant recommend them more for the work that they do. However, the overall experience leaves me never wanting to go back, not even for my free touch ups for the 90 days offered.

This review is long over due...my cousin and I came here for finger tattoos. We reviewed the design and then had to wait 45 minutes for our artist. We were warned about the placement and how it could wear off/need a touch up in 6 months. The artist recommended doing it on the knuckle, which my cousin did. I decided to do it on the inside of my finger. However, no matter what the placement was, they both wore off in 3 weeks. We paid $140 EACH for tattoos that took about 10 minutes to complete...I inquired about a free touch up and they denied it. Once again, we knew the risk of getting finger tattoos

The appointment process was very simple and someone got back to me quickly. I was quoted an reasonable price. I came here in October 2020 from Los Angeles and got my tattoo done by Antonio. He was the most gentle tattoo artist I have ever had work on me. The staff was very friendly and attentive. They followed COVID protocol and everything was very clean and sterile. Appreciate that Dzul was able to get me in same day with no appointment. However, for $100 I would expect a little better results than this. Dzul management, a little advice for the future, although a 10 year old could have done this tattoo, maybe charge your customers a little less when you are throwing in a new tattoo artist or maybe someone should supervise him while he's "trying". Terrible job

It's unfortunate that a couple reviews are bringing down the rating of Dzul, because I have had the BEST experience here. I've gotten my nose pierced by Cata, and several tattoos by Alex (Alejandro). From the start, they were professional and attentive about the pieces I wanted. They came up with several designs, and were honest about which ones would work best with my body shape (since this was going to be a larger piece on my hip and thigh).

My bestfriend & I decided to get matching tattoos together at Dzul Ink Lounge. She got her tattoo done by Emma & I got mine done by Alex. The final design that they presented us with based on the example we provided was just as good as we expected it to be. I'd give them 10 stars if I could! I was in desperate need of finding a tattoo shop to fix my barbell tattoo that I previously had done in July.
