I needed a smog check. I called after 6pm on a Tuesday and was told to come in after 10am on Wednesday. I arrived at 11:30am. 12pm I was on my way home! I recommend this to anyone needing a smog certificate for DMV. Sure it little bit more than most, but for me the taking on short notice, quick in/out, was worth the price. The smog certificate is included in the price. One last thing, if your DMV paperwork says "Must go to a STAR Station", you cannot go here.

A while back my car's starter failed and wouldn't start late on a Saturday. Luckily, Fell Street Auto was open on Saturday and Sunday. I was grateful to have a place to get my car towed to because it was parked on a M-F 2-hour parking street. The mechanic was quick to diagnose the issue and very responsive in staying in touch about the problem. His charge for the repair was fair according to San Francisco prices. I definitely would take my car here again if I needed to.

I don't have car issues on the regular but when I do I would take it here. Originally it was because they were around the block and open. However I lived in the neighborhood for 9 years and actually this place is pretty great I learned. Really friendly staff. They work hard and charge a fair price.
I moved out of the area recently and had my first major issue on my 12 yr old car. I called and they told me they would inspect the vehicle. When it was complete I received a costly estimate. Don't get me wrong, it was fair, as the part alone was pricey (AC compressor and belt) and the work

I almost never write a review, but Myron and his Co- worker were super friendly and honest. I am a native San Franciscan and have been to numerous shops throughout the city for various services. But from showing up without an appointment to having my car diagnosed and fixed within a few days, they gave superior service. I went outside of the Richmond district, where I live, since the few shops I've used here were slow and pricy. I've come here before , it's close and they do the job and prices are fair but I checked two locations on the web for their hours prior to coming and the hours stated they are open 8am on Saturdays... I got there at 7:45 to get my car in the queue.. I finally left at 9:15.. Besides me there were a few other cars that were waiting too. I just wish they would either update their info online or at least answer the phone.. They probably lost about a 1000 dollars worth of work to everyone who just gave up.. Plus it's freezing out.. Sitting in a car when you can see your breath waiting

Please note that their website states, "$20 off on smog checks when you call to schedule an appointment and mention our website" -- this is true, but the appointment process is a bit informal (they don't even take down your name), and you have to remind the person who handles the invoice about the discount. But, twenty bucks is twenty bucks, so I'd recommend going to the trouble.

I was delightfully surprised to stumble upon this place. The staff is insanely friendly and honest. I had them perform a smog test for which I used the $20 off from Yelp and a health inspection. Just like I asked they provided a detailed list of all the improvements that need to be addressed and gave me lots of tips as to how I could do it cheaper (e.g. ordering the tires on Amazon and having them do the install).
Best of all I didn't need an appointment and I genuinely enjoyed chatting with the staff. I've found my go to mechanic and it's right in the heart of Hayes. How perfect
