Vermont Bicycle Shop offers service solutions and experience with the most high end, and technically advanced cycling products as well as a quick pump-up for the neighborhood kids' bicycles.
We will always do our best to provide an easy to understand and accurate estimate by listening to you, talking with you, and going over the price before we perform any service. There are some instances when the labor for a task is less, and some rare occurrences where the labor might be more. These prices listed are labor charges.
It's a little more than your typical kids bike. Electra (owned by Trek) produces one of the most practical and significant children's bikes on the market. Balance is everything when you're learning how to ride, and Kickster is the perfect teaching tool for toddlers who are mastering this important skill.
I've long had an obsession with tires. I have an obsession with obtaining the impossible tire, one with amazing flat protection, long life, and the best grip and comfort possible. I have this fantasy that I will be able to find a tire that does all of these things in one tire. I know it's a fools dream, in the meantime, I've learned a lot about tires.
When we first opened Vermont Bicycle Shop we told everyone that we wanted to have one of the most technologically advanced bicycle shops in the country. We've managed to certainly stay ahead of the curve in the technology department and today we are taking it one step further. We've been working with our 3d printer in house since the beginning.

The best local bike shop! I was lucky enough to buy my gravel bike from Darren last season even though supply was low. He is super knowledgeable and walked me through all the options to get it setup for my riding style and needs. Darren and Kris provide such excellent service that anytime I needed to popover for adjustments, I was taken in right away and had everything explained to me as they were tuning my bike up.
I was also able to get properly fit for clipless shoes, which is tough to find comfortable options with my flat feet!
I highly recommend their shop for all your bicycle needs.

I bought my gravel bike from this shop, the service is excellent, I've never been disappointed, great people,great vibes, top quality work, I recommend this place over any bike shop in New England, I've had the chance to ride with the owner Darren and the bike mechanic Kris there really good people.

After doing some homework, found a new Norco gravel bike on VBS's website that fit my somewhat limited budget (it was on sale to boot). Rather than order it online, took a flier and decided to drive down to Barre – and so glad I did. Darren was incredibly helpful and super friendly. He put some new pedals and water bottle holders on for me, got everything tightened up, and fit the bike up for me. Although not the closest bike shop to me, will definitely be back and highly recommend Vermont Bicycle Shop to anyone.

I've had nothing but great experiences at the Vermont Bicycle Shop in Barre. One of the marks of a great shop is how they handle problems: I bought a new bike from him that had some brake issues, but Darren quickly diagnosed the problem and got a warranty replacement - I haven't had any problems since. Darren was also very helpful in figuring out what made sense for new bikes for my kids (they keep growing like weeds) and in keeping my old road bike moving.

Great customer service by knowledgeable mechanics. If you’re in the area and need a new bike, repairs, an mtb rental or trail advice, be sure to look this shop up. Recently, I had a new chain and a larger range cassette put on while enjoying the shops banter. Since we were camping in the area we joined in on a shop’s impromptu Saturday afternoon ride to get some creamies and then did an adventure ride on some Millstone trails with some class 4 roads tossed into the mix. Lots of fun and laughter on both rides and in the shop.

Darren is the absolute nicest and most knowledgeable bike guy I've ever met. When you walk in his shop you can clearly see that he enjoys his work and has a real passion for bikes and it shows in the way he treats his customers. Do yourself a favor and if you need anything bike related then stop and talk to Darren first, you will not be disappointed!

Darren is a very knowledgeable about all things bikes. We' ve purchased a used bike from him, had our bikes tunes up and we've very happy with the experience. He stands behind his work and when things needed adjusted he takes care of it no questions asked. He's helped me get the bike out of my van and knew with one quick look what was wrong even before it was out of the car. I feel comfortable asking any questions and he is a great resource to help with decisions and guiding to make the right purchase. He's also got a great sense of humor. Highly recommended
