Since 1929, the Holcombe Family has been serving the needs of families of Yancey and surrounding counties during their difficult times. We can provide any type of funeral service desired, from traditional to limited services, cremation, immediate burial, receiving of the deceased from out of town or forwarding of the deceased to another funeral director.
Services
Our business began when Fred Holcombe from Mars Hill and Robert Tilson, also originally from Mars Hill, built and established Holcombe & Tilson Funeral Home in 1929. That partnership continued until Mr. Tilson's untimely death in 1937. Mr. Harmon Edwards, a Yancey County farmer and former sheriff, purchased Tilson's interest and changed the name to Holcombe & Edwards Funeral Home.
At Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home, we take great pride in caring for our families, and will work tirelessly to provide you with a beautiful, lasting tribute to your loved one. In addition to the services we offer, you will receive an online memorial that you can share with family and friends. While honoring your loved one is our top priority, we also want to help you through this difficult time.
When a death occurs in the family important decisions need to be made and that can be overwhelming at a difficult time like this. We are here to assist you with the details and guide you through all the steps. Our services are tailored to your family and their needs. Give us a call to arrange a meeting so we can discuss your arrangements.
Meaningful memorialization of a loved one's passing can transform, heal, and comfort us. It highlights our loved ones' sacrifices, reminds us of the things that they value, and inspires us with their life stories. Have the Talk of a Lifetime, a program created by The Funeral and Memorial Information Council, was designed to help families have meaningful conversations about the things that matter most in their lives.
