We (Jon O'Connor and Amy Cirincione O'Connor) met on the Deschutes River while working for a wilderness therapy company in Oregon. After a few years of living out of backpacks and truck beds, we bought the cheapest commercial building for sale in Eureka and set about gutting it and turning it into a home.
Humboldt Bay Social Club is the ideal place to stay when visiting the Northern California Coast. We are minutes from the Victorian seaport of Eureka, one hour from Redwoods National and State Parks and steps from beach. Our lodging options range from cozy hotel rooms to expansive family homes. The Social Club is one of the only boutique hotels in Humboldt County and near the Redwoods.
Oyster Beach's extended four stay cabins Loft, Cabin, Bay House, and Ranch House are scattered across 22 beachfront acres. Each cabin has unique furnishings and design elements- from our cozy glamping cabin to the modern family Ranch House. All our cabins are close to the beach, have Bathhouse access and are dog-friendly.
Humboldt Bay Social Club is located on the southern tip of the Samoa Peninsula on Humboldt Bay. To the West, our boutique hotel is located on Samoa Field, a working airstrip the historic grounds of a WWII blimp base. This tiny municipal airstrip still lands about 1 private plane per day. The bases's officers' quarters were transformed into a fly-in bed and breakfast, which operated through the 1970s.
The Lobby Bar serves coastal comfort food, fresh Humboldt Bay oysters by the bucket, beer, wine, cider and cocktails, picnic meals, and charcoal and grilling supplies. Guests are welcome to use our outdoor picnic area to grill their own oysters, play cornhole, or just relax in Adirondack chairs around the fire.

I really want to love this place, but every time we visit I leave feeling disappointed. I live locally so I’ve never stayed here, just visited the Lobby Bar and Jetty several times. First of all, the atmosphere is so good, the weathered buildings and rustic decor are fantastic. That being said, I have never had a nice interaction with any of the staff here, they aren’t necessarily rude, just not friendly or warm at all. The Jetty doesn’t have any high chairs which seems weird for a place that is otherwise so family friendly. The food, while good, had shockingly tiny portions for the price

A unique gathering place especially for family gatherings. Like a public park with benches, tables and chairs in various places both indoors and outside. No alcohol is allowed to be brought in but there's a bar on site where you can purchase alcohol if you want and a little restaurant where food is available. We had a great time there with family and friends.
