On 8/6/21 the Humboldt County Public Health Officer announced an updated order:THE WEARING OF FACE COVERINGS IN WORKPLACES AND PUBLIC SETTINGS. This requires all individuals to wear face coverings when indoors in workplaces and public settings, as well as outdoor crowded public spaces and events, with limited exemptions, and recommends that businesses and events make face coverings available to individuals entering these spaces.

Trinidad Retreats has been the premier vacation rental management company in Humboldt County since 1997. We manage the best vacation homes across California's Redwood Coast, including the towns of Arcata, McKinleyville, and Trinidad. Meet your hosts - Jonna and Reid Kitchen. We have lived in Humboldt County for over 25 years.
Trinidad, known as "the Crown Jewel of the North Coast" is a historic, seaside village that sits above it's own natural harbor. The harbor and pier are home to world class fishing and crabbing, both sport and commercial. Only a twenty minute drive North to Redwood National Park, it is the most picturesque and convenient town to stay in while visiting the Redwoods.
McKinleyville is one of the fastest growing communities on the North Coast. It is the commercial air gateway to Humboldt County with the California Redwood Coast Airport. Offering small town charm with big city services it has plenty to offer from parks, movie theaters, a wide array of affordable restaurants, and is conveniently located between Arcata (a fun college town) and Trinidad (a scenic coastal town).
There are so many wonderful outdoor adventures to enjoy while staying with Trinidad Retreats on California's Redwood Coast. We encourage all of our guests to explore a wide variety of activities and make the most of your vacation experience. Our staff can assist you with any questions you may have regarding these activities or any other adventures here on the North Coast.
It's rarely hot on the Redwood Coast but it does get foggy. That's why it's such a good place for Redwoods. And, although the climate is fairly moderate, year round, you'll want to dress in layers and bring a light jacket, even in the summer. Coastal fog can bring temperatures in the high 50s. Summer and fall are usually our dry seasons, but it does rain now and then even into the month of June.

This is a cozy and private place to stay to explore the area. Walking distance to store and restaurants. Hike to beach though for some it may be challenging as in places it is steep. It’s gorgeous when you get there! Only reservation is that the access to the property involves navigating an un-paved section of the lane that may be hard for low clearance vehicles. Once on the property all is perfectly maintained. We had our dog with us and they were so welcoming- a great spot for her as there was no thru traffic- only woods and a nice years to play ball!

Rented the Forest Creek Lodge during the summer of 2021 for three nights. The only regret I have is that we didn't plan for a longer stay. The house is perfectly located in Humboldt County to experience all of Humboldt County with reasonable travel time to northern Humboldt (South of Del Norte) and southern Humboldt (touching Benbow Lake). Please follow the directions provided to find the house within the residential area; you can get lost with Google Maps. As for the house itself, it is the best kid-friendly rental we have had in Humboldt as of yet. The kids love the play area in front of the

We really enjoyed our stay here and even stayed an extra night. Wonderful location, quiet and private. Fairly easy walk downhill to the beach. The closest beach is "clothes optional" being this time of year that wasn't an issue for us but during summer months you may not want to go to the closest beach and choose to walk down a little farther or drive to another part of the beach. We loved the layout of the house nice and roomy. Loved the large deck and hot tub. Really nice hot tub the lights change color at night. Upon arrival though it could have been cleaned much better it was very dusty in

We stayed at the Camal Rock House near Trinidad, managed by Trinidad Retreats, for 5 nights. It was a wonderful experience and just wasn't long enough. We loved the unique decor, wonderful colors on the walls, the incredible kitchen with all the tools we needed, basic spices, and great appliances. We asked for minimized synthetic fragrances and they accommodated very well, the home had minimal odors of any kind. The property is delightful, loved the large trees, the privacy, the tranquility. Most of all the amazing views from the home and the yard were really first class. The coastline here is

Beautiful place to stay with gorgeous views that come and go depending on the fog, which is also fun to watch. Comfortable beds, kitchen had what we needed. Fun tree swing. Responsive hosts that helped us answer any questions we had. Easy drive to beaches and Redwood State and National Park. Fern Canyon was amazing too! I would definitely go back!
