Attorney Jin S. Kim has been an active member of the California State Bar since 2001. His experience encompasses serving as an associate in a busy firm setting to his current position as principal counsel of the Law Office of Jin S. Kim. He is a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley (UC Berkeley) where his major course of study was in rhetoric with a minor in philosophy.
Spouses of US citizens can benefit from a petition for alien relative. This requires that there be a marriage and the petition requires evidence of the marital relationship. The stand-alone petition is for situations when the spouse of the US citizen is outside of the US. When the spouse of the US citizen is in the US, an Adjustment of Status application may be more appropriate.
A fiance visa, or "K-1" visa, allows a fiance of a US citizen to enter the US for the purpose of marrying the US citizen. Almost a year ago I needed a lawyer to handle my fiancee's VISA application. I checked out Yelp and saw all his great reviews. They were all correct. He was very informative, professional and kind. I engaged the services of Jin for my application to adjust my status to permanent residency on the basis of marriage to a US citizen (my wife). Can't say enough good things about Jin. He was extremely well organized, was super responsive, and really cared about the outcome. We hired Jin to help things go smoothly with our application for permanent residence. I originally found him on yelp and with the good reviews we decided to hire him. I was a nervous wreck for most of the time up until the interview, yet Jin remained calm and was always there to answer questions and provide a sense of relief.
The journey was a long one, in a sense that it took about 3 months after the application for me to receive my work permit... and about 8 months (all together) to get an interview. In the end we got approved. Thanks Jin!!!!

Jin was a real pleasure to work with. He seems to sincerely care about making the process as easy as possible, help his clients to be comfortable as well as getting the result. I can't recommend Jin highly enough. He was extremely thorough and patient, while guiding my wife and I through the Green Card / Immigration process. We had many questions and concerns along the way, and he answered all of them.
Aside from his legal expertise, he's just a really nice guy and his professional integrity shines through. Sometimes my emails were responded to even on a late Sunday night, hours after I sent them, and with service like that I really feel he puts his clients needs first.
His rates are very reasonable, and I never felt pressured or rushed during our sessions
