Camp Middlesex
Imagine the perfect summer day hiking a leaf-canopied trail, stomping through creeks, learning to shoot a bow and arrow, swimming, and making new friends! The perfect summer day happens each day at 4-H Camp Middlesex as we provide campers with safe camp programs in a tech-free, natural wonderland. It's so great, that you'll swear you're home as soon as you walk over the bridge on to camp!

Since 1941, Camp Middlesex day (ages 6-15) and overnight (ages 8-15) camp in Ashby, Massachusetts has given campers an unforgettable summer experience! We tie in the mission of the 4-H program, and focus on building life skills through each of the 4-H's - Head, Heart, Hands, and Health. 4-H Camp Middlesex is an equal opportunity provider and employer, in cooperation with the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
Services
To provide opportunities that stimulate the development of each camper's self-esteem through supportive relationships. Camp Middlesex has a commitment to the health and safety of all participants. We comply with all state health codes and undergo a health inspection annually. In addition, we are accredited by the American Camp Association.
Your camp was a life saver for our daughter. As an only child who is not fond of remote anything it was so important for her to get to see and be with other kids. She was so smiley and chatty just after the first few days and it literally, even now, makes me teary to see her being her good old self again.
We are pleased to announce that we are a recipient of a Cummings Foundation Grant! The award will help support the creation of a cooking program at camp! We'll also be adding a van route to Lowell, thus expanding our access to camp! Finally, we'll be able to address erosion issues and pave our basketball court!
The day camp program is for campers ages 6-15 and runs Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM. Lunch is an additional fee. Day Camp drop off time is from 8:15 AM - 8:45 AM and pick-up is from 5:30 - 5:45 PM. Throughout the week, day campers rotate throughout all the activities that camp has to offer during the morning periods.
Camp Middlesex has partnered with Contry Hill Farm in Mason, NH to offer campers beginning horseback riding lessons (www.contryhillfarm.com). For an additional fee, campers will be transported to Contry Hill Farm Monday - Friday and have a 30-minute mounted lesson and a 30-minute horsemanship lesson.

Been here a few times for LARP events. Awesome campsite, with decent (albeit cold, no insulation) cabins, showers, and firepit. The giant hill is a force tho. If you're fine with leg day every day then absolutely recommend this place

Went back just to visit many years later. I attended camp here over 40 yrs ago and nothing has changed. It was great then and still looks the same now. The camp and grounds look well maintained. Some of my best/favorite memories as a teenager happened here. Wish I could go back in time!

What a great place for kids to spend a week in the summer. The property is beautifully located in Ashby in northern Massachusetts. The kids spend pretty much all day outside and have to sleep in rustic cabins without air conditioning. Showering is not really a good option, but luckily they up into the pool every day. Oh, and absolutely no electronics! My son loved it there especially since he was allowed to BB guns.

Great camp, plenty of trails and fields. It has a nice shooting range, decent cabins, and an absolutely amazing fire pit. It does not have a lake to swim in, though.

Today was my two boys' (8,11) first day of camp. They have been attending a variety of day camps for the past few weeks and, by far, Camp Middlesex is their favorite! They love the chef's food, the games, the swimming pool, the staff, their peers, the camp store and all the activities! Both rated it a perfect 10! After dinner, my youngest said, "I can't wait for tomorrow when I go back to camp!" I'm sold!

My daughter has gone to the camp for two consecutive years for one week stays. She loves it, and as she heads into Gr 8, she already has told me she is going for 2 weeks next year. One of the aspects that we like about this sleep away camp is that you go from Sunday-Friday. So you get to bring your kids home for the weekend, which we really like that idea vs. sending them away for a 4-7 week summer camp.
