Anclote Key State Park is actually a chain of islands located in the Gulf of Mexico at the mouth of the Anclote River. It consists of Anclote Key, Three Rookers Island, and the North Sandbar. Anclote Key is 440-acre nature preserve. Three Rooker is a bird sanctuary. For all of these areas you are encouraged to leave them as you found them.
Q: Do I have to purchase tickets in advance? We strongly recommend purchasing your tickets in advance as tours very often sell out. This way you can be sure to get the day and time booked for the tour you want. Tickets can be purchased at zerve or you may call 727-934-0547 or 727-484-2937 after hours, if you have any questions about our cruises.
I read all the reviews and we chose this team to take out to relax and enjoy a couple hours of sun, fun and one of the most perfect sunset. I haven't even begun talking about the crew, which quickly became friends! Rick was fun, energetic and even though he was multitasking he looks you in the eye when speaking with you!
There are many ways in Florida to see dolphins at play. This comprehensive list, though not exhaustive, has many top locations to check out to see these beautiful animals. Anclote Island might only be accessible by boat, but that doesn't stop visitors year-round from taking a trip to experience its unique charm and one-of-a-kind lighthouse.
Come enjoy Tarpon Springs most popular boat ride. A leisurely 2 hour cruise down the Anclote River into the Gulf of Mexico. Our captain will narrate the entire trip where you will learn about the history of Tarpon Springs and the famous Sponge Docks. Our Dolphin Adventure Island Cruise includes looking for Dolphin, manatee, sea turtles, fish, tropical foliage, and other local wildlife.

This cruise was wonderful: the informed and polite crew, the dolphins (which they turned around to see), and the sea shells! absolutely loved the dolphin call!

Great cruise to see dolphins. We were disappointed that the cruise didn’t go to the lighthouse (even after calling to confirm they did), which is only open to climb to the observation deck four weekends per year, but the cruise was fun, the dolphins were great, and the staff was very friendly.

Captain Sam and first mate Rick were wonderful. When someone spotted a dolphin they turned the boat to allow all who wanted to see. Rick was very informative about Tarpon Springs and a joy as our First mate. Can't stop go back in January with more of my family!

I have been a customer of Odyssey Cruises since they began. I love taking family and friends out to Anclote Island. This last trip I took 2 students out for the afternoon. The weather was beautiful. We saw many dolphins, went shelling, saw wildlife, and enjoyed a beautiful day. The staff is amazing, very professional and accommodating. Can't wait to go out again! Very reasonable prices. The Sunset Cruise is amazing on a clear night.

We live in Tampa and enjoy going on these cruises with the family. Fair price with great staff. It's a wonderful way to get on the water with the whole family. The sunset cruise for us is the best. Keep up the great work team.

What a fantastic day out on the water. The crew was thoroughly engaging and knowledgeable. We had a packed boat for the 1230 trip June 1st. The captain took particular care for a smooth ride. Have always loved Anclote. Gave up my boat in 2006 so this was such a great treat to be back on the pristine sand. Wish we could have stayed longer. Will definitely be taking the sunset cruise in the near future.
Lots of dolphins out too

I have been on this fantastic excursion five times. I love taking my family and friends on Odyssey Cruises when they come to visit me in nearby Palm Harbor. It's reasonably priced and a great educational experience, too. I love the history provided by the crew on your way to the island as well as the opportunity to see dolphin and do some shelling. Keep up the GREAT work Odyssey Cruises! I'm sure I'll be back!

Loved this cruise! Staff was professional and taking social distancing precautions. I appreciate the staying in your area precautions to keep people from roaming about the boat. We were lucky enough to see several dolphins playing and even jumping! Shell beach was beautiful . The kids and adults enjoyed the history on the indigenous people. My parents are locals and always suggest this cruise for all visitors.

I loved everything about this ride. The day I took this ride I had a day off so I planned on taking a boat ride with my fur baby Mocha Coconut. They r dog friendly so it was nice, relaxing, and super super easy. We took a boat ride and saw the surrounding area and stopped on Anclote key.

The water here was so pretty and I loved it. I took Mocha in his stroller since they do not allow dogs on foot on the island.

All was well and this was a perfect boat ride! I can't stop smiling thinking about it now. It was definitely a perfect day!

Odyssey Cruises at the Sponge Docks in Tarpon Springs offered a beautiful boat ride. You start the tour on the Anclote River and float along to the Gulf of Mexico.

The Captain told us many stories of the history of Tarpon Springs and the famous Sponge Docks. I took my niece on the cruise for her birthday and we both had a great time!
However, we were disappointed as the cruise was scheduled to stop at Anclote Island where we could get off and hunt for seashells. But the day of our cruise the waters were up and you could barely see the island so we were unable to dock.
