At My Weekday School, we strive to offer excellent teaching, beautiful classrooms, and inspiring programs to children of all cultures, faiths, and walks of life. Services
In 1961, Lexington had a large population of young children, no public kindergarten, and only two nursery schools. Members of the Lexington Methodist Church wanted to sponsor a kindergarten program in its brand-new education wing that would offer a high-quality, affordable education to as many children as possible.
Our preschoolers, who are 3 or almost 3 at the start of the school year, are the youngest students in school. Some have attended playgroups, family daycare, or other early childhood programs, but for many, this is the first time they're part of an organized school program that meets several times a week.
Our Pre-K students are crossing that great bridge between their first tentative experience away from home and the self-confident autonomy of going off to kindergarten. For the most part, their preschool skills are solidly established and are now being refined: they move quickly and gracefully; they assimilate new rules and routines easily; they ask peers to play and are willing to negotiate to keep the play going.
Both our Preschool and Pre-K students have the opportunity to meet with our specialists each week. Mrs Wada has been leading our "Little Musicians Club" for nearly 20 years, and Mrs. Lyng is in her sixth year as our Creative Movement teacher. Both have educational backgrounds in music, and their love of teaching children through music is evident in every session.
Applications for the 2021-2022 school year are now available! After our initial winter/spring enrollment schedule, applications will be accepted on a rolling basis as space allows. New families are strongly encouraged to tour the school with their child before submitting an application; tours will be available all year by appointment, in both in-person and virtual formats.

My Weekday School is the best preschool in town. This school was highly recommended by friends and I am glad that we chose MWS for our daughter. Experienced and caring teachers create a nurturing environment for our preschoolers. Kids love the hands-on crafts, painting, outdoor play and other activities and look forward to going to school everyday. Overall, a wonderful school!

We have been going to My Weekday School from three different towns now... we have not found another school that is as great from their excellent classrooms, to large indoor space, to amazing outside playground. Additionally, the teachers and staff have helped my children grow and have fun while learning so much. Finally, both our children and us (the parents) have made amazing lifelong friends through the school. My first grader loves to go back and visit and my son cannot wait to go to school every day. It is truly an amazing place!

MWS is such a lovely little neighborhood preschool: friendly and experienced teachers and staff, warm environment, lots of hands-on activities and opportunities for learning through play, songs, art, etc. It is exactly what we were looking for in a preschool and our daughter loves going to school there!

We love My Weekday School! Our son is currently enrolled in his first year, and we are so happy that we chose MWS. Everyone is so caring and very attentive, and as first time pre-school parents the staff really helped us be prepared and put us at ease. My son has food allergies and his teacher has been amazing to ensure they only provide snacks that are safe for him. Our son absolutely loves MWS and is excited to go to school each day. My Weekday School is the most amazing preschool in our area. It has been open for over 55 years and still going strong. I went there as a child and now my own children attend. The teachers are loving and caring while at the same time preparing the children for elementary school. The days are structured and fun. Our oldest child is in first grade in the Lexington public school system. He was more than prepared to start elementary school after going to My Weekday School.
