Plymouth Nursery School
Located in the heart of Belmont Center, Plymouth Nursery School is best known for its nurturing environment and quality teaching staff and our large, shaded, private playground, where we go out to play throughout the year. Our play-based curriculum is geared to the development of all aspects of a child's growth.

The school day is from 9am - 12pm. There are two separate classrooms within the school. A professional teacher with extensive training in Early Childhood Development leads each class. Our Extended Day program is held from noon to 2:00 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesday, and Thursdays if there is sufficient demand from the enrolled families.

Located in the heart of Belmont Center, Plymouth Nursery School is best known for its nurturing environment and quality teaching staff. At PNS the program allows freedom within the limits appropriate to early childhood and seeks to foster positive attitudes towards school.

The program of activities, while informal in nature, is carefully planned to give each child an opportunity to explore his or her abilities and to develop self-confidence through constructive play.As a semi-cooperative preschool, parents are actively involved in their child's experience through volunteering on a specific committee, participating in social functions and being the parent helper in their child's classroom.

Each day a parent helper assists the teacher with the teacher's activities and daily clean up, as well as providing the class with a snack.
With her B.S. in Early Childhood Education and an M.A. in Special Education, Marilyn's lively program of creative movement activities promotes body awareness, physical fitness, rhythm, motor coordination and freedom of expression. The children just love to move and groove during their time with Marilyn.
We encourage you to take a tour of our facility and to discuss any questions and concerns with our Director of Admissions. We will hold Open Houses during the school year as well as schedule individual visits when class is in session. Please call 617-484-9782 for more information. The parent assists in the classroom approximately once every two to three weeks, depending on the class size. Supply the snack for the day. Cleanup at the end of the morning includes wiping the tables, sweeping, vacuuming the classroom, and washing the bathroom sinks and toilets.

The following is a list of the jobs, and brief description of the duties involved in each which make up the major out-of-class cooperative responsibilities for each family at PNS.During Parent Night in September, you will have a chance to sign up for the job your family would like to help with throughout the year.
