I have been coming to this place for over 30 years. I've rented cabins here with family. I have canoed out of here into Boundary Waters. (Lake 1 through to Insula and also Snow Bank up to Thomas)
I have rented the back houses and run many groups through here.
This place is more of a family to me that it is a business. I consider them very good family.

I just got canceled from my first boundary waters trip due to wildfires. The bwca refunded my permit but this company does not do refunds ever apparently. I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to come back to this area the next time I try to do a trip and so I am considering my money completely lost at this point. I'm very disappointed and I hope that this company would reconsider their refund policy. I hope other customers would be able to read this and set their expectations for refunds if anything occurs that would cause a cancellation on their trip plans.

Let me start by saying, this was the most relaxing vacation I have ever taken! After the garbage year that was 2020, my girlfriend and I were ready to get away...and let me tell you, THIS IS THE PLACE TO DO IT! We stayed in cabin 3 which is absolutely gorgeous and perfect for two. The cabin was clean, well decorated, and thoroughly stocked with everything you would need.
The cabin rental comes with a canoe for day trip adventures which I really liked. We got out fishing every day and had NO trouble getting on some nice bluegills with just nightcrawlers. IT WAS A TON OF FUN! Be sure to stop up

This was our first visit to Kawishiwi Lodge and we were not disappointed! Frank and Nicole were welcoming and friendly. The cabins were cozy and adorable. View from the living area and master bedroom spectacular! Spacious kitchen which made cooking a breeze. Fishing, swimming, hiking/walks, bike riding, canoeing all right there. Beds were super comfortable. Our kids had so much fun playing with Frank and Nicole's kids on the playground. We have found our new "go-to" family vacation spot! Thank you, Frank and Nicole, for a great time!

This is a great place to visit. The cabins are gorgeous and equipped with most everything you'll need (bring towels, dish rags and towels, pillows, blankets, life jackets). There is silverware, plates, bowels, cups, baking pans, cutting boards, pots and pans and much more in the kitchen. The sights are beautiful and it is a great spot to canoe and kayak(we portaged to confusion lake). There are great rocks to jump from into the water as well as docks. Many memories made and laughs had at cabin 18. Can't wait to come back.

I've been on maybe a dozen BWCA trips, and used many different outfitters. Most are pretty neutral, a couple have been unpleasant. But this is the only outfitter I've used that I would go out of my way to use again.
I've rented canoes from Frank twice - both times, he was very accommodating and helpful, offering advice on where to go and which campsites were likely to be available. When he saw we were going to have someone sit on the floor of one of our boats, he loaned us a wooden seat he'd made to make their ride more comfortable.
It is also a family enterprise, with kids running around playing

Just finished a 4 day trip into the Boundary Waters. We were outfitted by Kawishiwi Lodge and Outfitters and it was worth every penny. The first night we stayed at one of the bunk houses then left the next morning. Accommodations were comfortable and clean with great views from the beach. There was wifi available at the lodge if you need to research any last minute trip details or weather updates. Frank the owner met us early in the morning to get us our packs, canoes, and was super helpful providing feedback on routes or last minute questions. All equipment was high quality, functioned well, and
