Bromwell's sells hundreds of fireplace appliances each year. We also provide consultation, installation and maintenance services for all products we represent. Fireplace business has changed and evolved into a huge multifaceted industry with a number of different technologies and myriads of options over the past several decades.
Vented gas log set is the first technology that comes into one's mind when converting an existing masonry or pre-fabricated wood burning fireplace to gas as it is the most realistic looking option of the three and the one that offers the most options and choices of style and size.
This technology is the least efficient of all the three technologies for existing wood burning fireplaces; it is only 20-30% efficient and requires that it is used with the damper wide open.Vented gas log sets are still two to three times more efficient than a straight wood burning fire since wood burning fires are zero percent efficient under the best circumstances.

Vent free technology is the most efficient of the three options one can use in an existing masonry or pre-fabricated wood burning fireplace. It also gives one the total control over the damper position. Despite the common misconception, vent free log sets can be used as purely vent free (without a damper or with a damper closed), partially vented or fully vented.
If you do not have an existing wood burning fireplace and wish to have one, pre-fabricated wood burning fireplaces of varying sizes would be a great alternative to conventional masonry ones at a much better price point. New clean looking radiant wood burning fireplaces can be finished in such a way that it would be hard to distinguish it from a masonry fireplace.

We LOVE our new fireplace. The drafty house with the old gas log set is GONE! The team at Bromwell's have exceeded our expectations in every way. Anita helped us find the right solution that fit our needs, instead of trying to fit our needs into what products are available. We really appreciated that. Kevin was a true professional during installation and we are beyond satisfied with his work. We look forward to showing the new fireplace off this holiday season to all of our visitors.

We just finished having Kevin install our new Kozy Heat Roosevelt 34 and could not be happier with the experience. From start to finish the sales people (Brian and Debbie), the gas installers, and the actual unit installers led by Kevin were very knowledgeable, friendly and prompt in returning calls and e-mails. everything went smoothly especially because at every stage the workmen were prompt and in most cases early.
We are very excited with the cold weather coming up. Merry Christmas to us.

I loved working with everyone at Bromwell’s — Brian, Prescott, Hillary, Kevin and Eric. From my initial interest to the final installation, everyone was super helpful and just a delight to work with. I realize this is the busy season, right before the holidays, but everything went super smooth even though there were lots of moving parts and different people that handle the various steps. They obviously communicate well amongst themselves so that everyone seemed to know what was going on with my particular unit. And they responded quickly to any questions that I might have had. My husband and I are thrilled with our gas fireplace insert from Bromwell's. They were very responsive and helpful during the process of choosing the best fireplace insert from us. On the day of the installation, the installer (Kevin) was very knowledgeable and efficient. The final product looks great! We purchased the 18 inch rugged split oak insert.
