Thank you for visiting and exploring Old New House (ONH), New York based, family-owned company specializing in vintage rugs and home decor. Shop owners Melissa and Dave Dilmaghani started ONH in 2011 on Etsy as one of the sites first handful of vintage rug sellers. In the NYC suburb town of Katonah (hamlet of Bedford of Westchester County) the Old New House flagship bricks-and-mortar store celebrated a grand opening in 2016.
The specialty has, and will always be, vintage and antique hand-knotted rugs, with focus on distressed Turkish carpets we recondition to exacting specifications at our restoration facility in Turkey. Our heritage and expertise is also in fine and unique Persian rugs, both worn and collectible from the early 1800's thru mid 20th century.

Dave is a 4th generation rug seller on his mother's side, and 5th generation on his father's. On his father's side, there is an unbroken lineage in designing, manufacturing and importing hand knotted rugs dating to the mid 1800's!

Many of our oversize carpets are in the process of being published live on our website - if you have special requests or interest in any particular size or style, email us md@oldnewhouse.com! I had the best experience buying a beautiful rug from this nice shop. All my inquiries were responded to very quickly. The inventory is top-notch. Their website displays a large selection of interesting and worthy items. It is clear that a lot of thought and taste goes into their selection process. Excellent all around!

Out of all the stores in Katonah, Old New House is by far my favorite. While the rugs are pricey and awesome, you can also find reasonably priced and unique little gifts here as well. I especially enjoy the kind owners and sales associates. They're always eager to help and seem to genuinely enjoy speaking with/ helping their customers.

Just purchased a rug from Old New House showroom in Katonah. Melissa and Dave were both very knowledgable about there products and the history of each rug. There website is great in that you can view all of the rugs and sort by size or price. When we arrived at the showroom they had selected 9 or 10 rugs in the size and style that we liked. We laid them all out and selected the winner. There pricing was very good as I had priced out a number of vintage Kilim and Persian rugs. Dave was also able to give me the rugs history.
